Haha, good to know. I prefer quality sound and if the Behringers are lacking Im gonna stay away. Never heard Peavey so didn’t even think to consider them and yeah, my Gemini system was constantly going in for repairs thus Im ridding myself of them. JBL are extremely expensive but Ive heard them and know the quality they produce. HK have the following line available locally:

Im assuming these are more quality than the Peavey’s? I just notice its rated 600W as opposed to the JBL PRX718 XLF at 1500W. Thats more than double the power and they look a lot more sturdy. So many things to consider aaarghhh! Im gonna have to listen to them all myself before spending my hard earned savings…

Thanks for the help guys, you rock!

Yeah, thats been my thinking but of late Ive been pondering about the cost gap between the entry level brands and the premium brands. I will give the JBL’s a listen before I decide anything. Unfortunately in South Africa we are very limited brand wise, all you can find here are JBL, HK, Yamaha, Peavey, Gemini, Behringer, Wharfedale and Samson. Anything else is very difficult to find, or at least Ive been struggling. The HK’s aren’t too pricey though and they also seem to be a premium brand.

Thanks for the comments so far.

Yeah, a mate of mine has the Behringer and they are loud. Ive just heard and read big things about the JBL and the Crown amp, but for double the price would buying two Behringers not be the better option? With the Gemini GVX the bass gets a little lost at outdoor events (crowds of 80 – 250pax) and the Gemini needs replacing soon.

Yeah had a go with some of the setups available and the sound is horrible, i decided to buy the beats by dre speakerbox which is a normal speaker but wireless and still quite compact. Also has mad bass for such a small speaker. Will only be using it for house parties though, thanks for the comments…
