The tops have a high and low eq on them and then a mic in and volume line in and and output volume.

If I used 2 subs. One left and one right. And just go mixer to speakers, then speakers to subs. Left and right. Would this work and be safe. As it seems the most easiest way, rather than using crossovers extra cables etc.

Thanks, what cross over would I need? The sub is a qtx15sa
So i just go main out of mixer into crossover, then one into sub and 2 into the speakers? So I won’t have the speakers or sub connected using the link feature on any of them.

also could anyone tell me, what height speakers should be mounted on stands? as im pretty sure different heights will affect the sound….

    thanks.

in reply to: Filters xone 62 #2069981

Ok. But if I have the xfader turned off the filters don’t work on either side. So I’m a bit confused. I live the mixer and it was only £250 all was working fine until I cleaned it 🙁

The filters are so much better than pioneers and I lobe the 4 band eq and studio style faders.

At home and in a club I use and external mixer, djm 800(club) xone62(home) with a kontrol x1 mk1,and audio 6 soundcard using traktor. This is perfect for me. It’s cheap I can use cdjs or turntables with I don’t bother with as I prefer just an x1.

If you buy and x1 for £100, and audio 2/6 soundcard depending on dvs.for £80/150 and an external mixer you will be fine,

I prefer this as if you get gigs in clubs you don’t have to take a big controller, and you can have same setup at home as you do in club depending on mixer.

I have technics 1200 but I only use for real vinyl not djs, I don’t bother with cdjs due to the expensive cost.

Well the club I play in has martin audio speakers which sound lovely. And at home I use pioneer sdj80x which are good monitors for everyday listening.

So i will take a few tracks and listen and see what they are like.

    Thanks again

Ok brilliant that’s what I was thinking if I got 4 then point them inside.

I’ll take a gamble on these speakers and hopefully they will be just what I need.

Ok great thanks. I’ll go and try them out tomorrow and see how I get on. Fingers crossed. A stupid question but if you want to use 4 powered speakers. you run them out of mixer into two speakers. Then use the thru or link to the others? Also will this reduce any loudness from the speakers?

Thanks for the help. I have read the replies but forgot my password to login.

I have seen a pair of mackie thumps ta-15 for £300 which I hope I could get for £270/280

Whould these be any good as a starter pa set up if I add a sub? For weddings for 100/150 people.

I have read mixed reviews on these.

    Thanks

I don’t want to spend loads as if I don’t like it i can go back to clubs. But the hours are better and it’s slightly better pay. With 2 children this is ideal really.

So maybe it might be better renting some for.the first couple of weddings I do and see how I go.

    Thamks for your advice

It’s a glitch that I found when i had that mixer. All the buttons are lite but don’t respond. But normal mixer controls are fine.
I sold mine and bought a kontrol x1 and a normal mixer.
