No worries using that model Air, that could run Serato DJ, Traktor, Rekordbox or any current software from my knowledge. Good to go.

Sometimes it is the power block but mostly it is inside the PC itself. Using a Macbook Pro or Macbook Air there would be no issues at all with hum. Some PC’s cause hum others are OK. It’s a common issue which is why most DJ’s and musicians choose to use Macs. Other forum members will be able to point you to PC models that do or don’t hum.

I guess I was referring to $400 being “budget” compared to most other Pioneer mixers available $1500+. The DJM-T1 has a quality sound card inside, useful effects, good faders and XLR output. I would conclude that due to the fact it is made specifically for Traktor software and that the Native Instruments Z2 is arguably better ergonomically with Traktor this mixer is overlooked and as such is available at a “bargain price on the second hand market, the fact remains that a second hand $400 Pioneer mixer with DVS equipped sound card and balanced XLR outputs is about as cheap as you will get to do the job. Any other forum members back me up on this advice to Neto? Phil?

The integrated audio interface delivers 24-bits of high-output audio.
Also there is the Pioneer DJM-T1 2 Channel Traktor Mixer. It has 2 stand-alone channels & 2 full remix channels
TRAKTOR 2 Series Control New High Performance Fader Design Internal USB Soundcard High quality sound Includes timecode vinyl & CDs for DVS system. Compared to other Pioneer mixers this is budget. Hey Neto I suggest you look for a second hand Z2 or DJM-T1, you should pay around $400 for a working one with a bit of wear and tear.Max MaxyParticipantHi DJ Vintage, yes it’s a bit confusing as it seems that Pioneer staff know whats doing but haven’t managed to get the information to the masses. Your wrong about needing DVS to rip vinyl on the new Rekordbox (free download) software.
If you have a USB conection on your turntable which the new Pioneer ones do, as does Audio Technica and many others you only need to download the new Rekordbox application for free, fire it up, connect your USB from turntable to your computer play some vinyl and Rekordbox will detect the audio source and away you go. Mostly very straightforward unless you want to tweak the auto settings. All this without any hardware except computer, turntable and USB cord.
Cheers, DJ Maxy. -
