ParticipantI think this is a waste of time. They should change rules and have a jury select a few mixes, and THEN let the social media make their choice.

ParticipantDepending on the length of a track let’s say around 5 to 8 minutes the file size wil be around 12 to 19 MB for a 320 Kbps mp3.
I would recommend getting everything of 320 kbps or better quality. Just to have a good standard. If you for example use a lower quality in a mixtape and you then want to compress that mix because of the file size you may hear differences in volume.
But like everyone has already said, listen good. Have a few benchmark tracks that you know sound good and compare.
Sometimes the High freq sounds glitchy or warped and sometimes the Low freq is muddy. Trust your ears!ParticipantNow also on Soundcloud!
ParticipantNice mix this is! I got to be honest here, Trance is really not my style , but I wanted to hear your progress and you’re doing great man! It sounds more than good to me. Transitions are very nice and smooth! You create a nice dreamy vibe with a good beat!

Last weekend I had a party (around 40 people) at friends house and I was the DJ for the night. He had some nice, big loud speakers en big separate Sub-woofer all connected to a mixer and amplifier. I plugged my twitch controller into one of the channels and off I was! It was the first time I could play out loud and ineed had to deal with the different sound due to the size of the system. But I did some sound-checking before everyone arrived and adjusted till the sound was optimal. So thanks again for the tip because I think it wouldn’t have sounded as good if I had not turned the EQ of the mixer down ( It sounded very flat and the sounds was drowning in the bass)
I had a great night, played for 5 hours straight (was really tired en broken afterwards ) and got a lot of compliments. People asked me which club I usually play and I had to tell them, nowhere just at home! So that was really nice to get some feedback from people I didn’t already know. I learned a lot by looking at what the tunes did to the mood and how people reacted to it. Now all I want to do is play out loud again!!!!
ParticipantA lot has already been said and I agree. I get a feeling you’re committed so keep on working on your skills. Listen to other mixtapes/sets of your favorite dj’s and listen good to their transitions. Also I’m not sure but it sounds like not all of your tracks are the same quality. I hear some differences between the tracks and for me that’s a no go. Again not sure but always important! Keep it up!
ParticipantGood mixtape bro and good that you put your pride aside and dropped this mixtape. Nothing to be ashamed of this a really good set. Your technique is great. I don’t know the tracks you used I like them but I find them very similar together in this mixtape, but that’s personal taste. Oh and maybe this also is personal taste but I think the genre is not only minimal but more techno/tech house as well. There are a lot of minimal elements (bleeps etc). Not that important but it just gave me a different expectation. Great mix nonetheless! Keep up the good work man!
