Phil WorrellParticipant
There are a few available. The Neon is designed for Serato, but no reason not to use it.
There are also some Akai pad controllers available. e.g. the Alkai MPX16. It is actually a sampler unit but is a 16 pad velocity sensitive midi controller. Really small but has big enough velocity pads too. IF you want to you could run it back into a mixer input and use it as a sampler.Phil WorrellParticipantI bought it yesterday. Phil gives away so much for the price.
Well done on the public performance, your first step into performing. Does not matter how many people there are as long as you have an audience. on ward and up wards from here Lynnjamin…
Phil WorrellParticipantStill not known how he died, and if there is actual confirmation. Sad if it is true.
Used to catch his shows on Kiss FM when it was good and less commercial.
I’m now of an age where a lot of good people I grew up listening to on radio or watching on Television are now slowly passing away. I guess it is just an age thing.
Phil WorrellParticipantThere is a train to the Birmingham international station which is attached to the NEC. All the distances are walkable. I did the airport to the exhibition hall a few times. It is not hard. You just have to go into the station and keep following the signs all the way to the end.
Phil WorrellParticipantYou flying directly into Birmingham airport?
It is not that far from the NEC although a bit of a walk. As the centre is huge and the show is right at the back in ha
Los 11/12. Well it was last year.I’m flying into London Heathrow as no direct flights from Geneva early Saturday. Then getting transport across London and the train up. Should be there around lunch time all being well. Staying until lunchtime Monday.
Should be a great show.
Phil WorrellParticipantI’ll be there Too DJ Vintage. Saturday and Sunday this year. 😉
Looking forward to catching up with the Team and finally meeting You and Joey.
We can heckle the guys in the Saturday sessions 😉
Phil WorrellParticipantNot had that problem particularly Terry so unable to comment.
Phil WorrellParticipantMidi in Traktor is not as tight as HID. However certainly usable, if you adjust the rotary mapping settings. (Ok Steve Canueto the scratch tutor may disagree with me on this one. ) 😉
First you must be ok with mapping in Traktor.
Second take a backup of your settings. For each of the scratch mappings there are Rotary sensitivity and Rotary acceleration.
The sensitivity is the main one you need. Play with the lower end of the setting and keep seeing what the response is like, sometimes even a 1% change makes a big difference. Keep moving the jog until you get the sort of response you want. It is never perfect, but worth a go if you already have a controller.Phil

Phil WorrellParticipantCongrats Deathy. Now go prepare, prepare, prepare and have fun with it. Report back after the gig let us all know how it went.
Phil WorrellParticipantJust trying to get back on topic.
Back to the original OP what is the problem exactly that you are having with Mapping the GV2.
Usually it is just going into the preferences, controller section and importing the TSI file provided.
Then it should work.I have done several mapping of my own including a full controller which had no mappings at all.
So let us know what we can do to help.Phil WorrellParticipantNope never seen those guys ever in my life 🙂 LOL
September 16, 2014 at 8:33 am in reply to: Shopping For DJ Headphones (All recommendations welcome) #2058062Phil WorrellParticipantTrue I have a pair of those on my desk I use to plug in for listening to music. They are very clear, inexpensive and comfortable to wear for long periods. However I tried using them for Djing and they are just not flexible enough for me as they have to come on and off a lot and one ear at a time. They just do not go on and off the ears easily.
That is a personal opinion of course.
Phil WorrellParticipantGood to meet you Parafinn. unfortunately I don’t know Birmingham and it’s club scene.
I didn’t go to gatecrasher, glad I didn’t now. Sorry it was so bad.
