The Wego does seem like a bit of a toy in my eyes but it does have some great features. I’m loving my new denon mc3k its traktor and vdj ready and it packs a massive punch at its price point I can honestly recommend it over the wego for features and build quality. Also all this nonsense about the jog wheels is just that they pick up each beat very well so defo check that out.

P.S. Recording is now fine but what I can’t record is the mic input from my controller. Its a built in soundcard so I don’t understand why I can’t talk over the top of my mix and it be picked up by the recording, is this a simple fix or do I need an external sound card to record voice as well as music?

The Traktor DJ app is something I want to give a go seeing as my new dj software preference is Traktor 🙂 i am looking at dj effect apps too what work well on the iPad does anyone know? I heard of a few. Touch osc? Lemur? Any others I can go look up and research?

I got it working now, I’m new to the softweare and only just learning it but my god its great heres a link to the mix I’ve just done with it and the denon mc3k. I googled a converter and the first website that pops up does it online and it makes the mp3 twice as small as its compressed (I believe) so thats handy. In my case I had to close the program before playing the recording. Is this the norm with traktor recordings?

Thanks for your response. Heres that link! –> http://www.mixcloud.com/DJshaunpearcey/chartdance-mini-mix-23052013/

That’s nice lol, it’s working now. Apparently it takes a few hours to process the order with the serial numbers included so I got it a few hours after I made the order. Now I’m having issues with the mix recorder not working 🙁

I recommend getting something like the numark mixtrack pro 2 its under £200 and you can get a laptop stand and headphones bundled with it on certain deals on ebay/amazon and other websites. Great for learning on and is a serato certified controller! Hope this helps 🙂

I think overall you have to be careful whatever you buy if its second-hand. But by going by experience its usually better in some ways to go second-hand as there are good people out there who take care of things and so sometimes if you pay the average price as you say chuck and get a good buy for a well looked after bit of kit. Yes sometimes you can buy crap I’ve been unfortunate in the past and brought a stolen/bricked phone in error but s**t happens and you learn to be more careful and wise with your purchases.

All I’m saying is I could afford to buy a new one but I wouldn’t as I’d rather have that money for more important things so by saving money from my day job I can get a good second hand one that will last me the next 2/3 years at least! The saying is buy cheap buy twice and it happens sometimes but if your lucky you can get great deals on ebay and other online sites.

I love apple products but don’t like ios on iphones thats why I have a galaxy note 2 as my phone, music wise though one of the best but software they need changes! I’m not buying refurbed from apple they cost a small fortune ebay/amazxon are the better places to look in my experience.

I will look at laptops also but I till want an iPad aha! If i can pick up a macbook pro with an i5 for around 500/600 quid I will as they seem a lot more stable for ram intensive apps/programs..

And these are now the industry standard so it will be a worthy investment that can be used for everything! What windows laptop alternatives are there to these then, as i’ve checked the lenovo thinkpad’s (top model i7’s), HP’s pavilion range (again i7’s) and some alienware machines too but nothing quite matches the beautiful-ness of these devices!

Thats good, Yeah im after the i5 variant with the 15.4″ screen looks amazing! eBay my first site for everything these days is giving me stupid prices only morons would pay.. £900 for a macbook air aha in their dreams! I have seen a couple for around the 600 mark but they have gone very quickly will check around on other sites got to be a decent one out there. Any chance yours had 8gb ram Chuck or was it 4gb and you had to upgrade it?

Cheers for advice guys, I’m on holiday next month so atm all my money is going on getting my denon mc3k and my holiday saving money but once I’m back I will save for one and get an ssd as you mentioned chuck. I don’t really want to spend more than £700 on a macbook pro as i’m not even gigging yet so no income coming back in from it yet only the day job :/

I think the mc3k is my preferred choice and maybe an f1/x1 or maschine added to the setup in the near future!

I will look into the bus power issue and see what its about (still don’t understand). I have an ssd in my custom built pc and its improved boot times by almost 3/4 it blitzes through things so will look into that possibility. When you say dual core you mean core duo? Most of the processors are dual core I believe?
