Denon MC3000 OR Numark N4 are my choices under £300 what do you guys think? N4 is better suited to me because of the standalone mixer capability.

American Audio VMS4.1 after careful thought isn’t on the same wave length as the N4 so will try order one up when I have the funds, The Staton isnt really what I’d go for odd sort of layout, as for the Jockey I dont like the look of it and still considering the Denon its really a 2 way race between N4 and MC3000 one I think the N4 will win at!

So for the battle of £300 its now down to MC3000 from Denon or Numark N4, what does anyone think? This is my last comparison both have what it takes with the Denon being potentially a 4 deck mixer with outputs aswell…

Thanks for the feedback, How I like the sound of 4 decks I don’t think I will use these that much.. I just like to mix tracks but can see in the future how 4 can be useful, any more suggestions on controllers I can look at both 2 and 4 deck based limit around £350!

I have a list of ones I’ve found that are an improvement on my current controller and what I feel could get me going for a year or maybe 2 please let me know what you guys think about these controllers!

    Stanton DJC.4 – Considering
    Reloop Jockey 2 – Don’t know
Denon MC3000 – Not sure, more traktor havent tried it yet..
American Audio VMS4.1 – Very interested, considering

So far N4 still preferred choice.. please any help is appreciated!

    Thanks

TM4 was ordered then amazon cancelled the order so I cant afford a new one as this was a used one. My next option is the n4 which is probs the best affordable option that gives me a load of features, 4 channel mixer and more output future options! What do you guys think?

Thanks again guys this community is awesome at advice, Okay slight problem with my paypal limit so will have to ring them or wait to june so it resets as I can’t buy the TM4 on Ebay with pay pal as I’m near my limit :/ The TM4 is a great shout same layout as the TM2 with just a few extra buttons I think? For Around £350 it packs a load of punch for the money and features that will keep me amazed for a good few years (LETS HOPE!) This is great to develop and learn more on it seems so will be perfect, only thing now is to get my pay pal sorted buy it when I have the cash and then learn serato and if its not for me then VDJ will do nicely..

I’m a fan of VDJ up till now as its been my only option with the controller I have, I’m a big believer in trying out new things but Traktor looks to complicated for myself and would take longer than say Serato to learn. So my software preferences lie with a controller that I can play around with both VDJ and Serato so far the Terminal Mix 2 is the best option, The Denon mc2000/3000 does lie with this software too but I dont know if its a better controller for me, will do some reviews.

What about the American Audio VMS4.1 bit less money and does seem to have a lot of options.. What I need is a load of controllers to do reviews on aha!

Thanks guys, I don’t fancy buying a mixtrack and learning on it as I want to make a bold step up, learn it well then hit the bars and pubs for gigs you see, I cant really develop my skills and move on with my Hercules E2 as its only decent for small house parties..

I was going to say should I look at the Denon’s for around £300 the Mc400 is in my price range I believe also any other controllers you guys can suggest, but so far Mixtrack pro 2 is not my preferred choice its now the Terminal
    Mix 2!

    Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the advice guys, so you wouldn’t say the Mix track pro 2 then? It does has aux inputs and mic and headphone inputs.. not as complex as say the terminal mix 2 or 4 but should do me for a while still confused.. I like the terminal mix but seeing as I haven’t even gigged yet I don’t know. Also Don’t want to gig with the Hercules as this is so basic, Just got it to learn on..

Thanks for the Story aha! Very informative and much needed for a novice like myself. Okay so the Ibiza set is 2 300w 8″ speakers with a 800w subwoofer for just short of £285 it seems the best option for myself without going and getting an amp then a set of speakers for around the same price, or is it? This is the Ibiza set could you take a look and tell me if its any good for doing small gigs while I’m getting known – as your more knowledgeable about this topic than myself aha! – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150984224176?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

As it goes for the cables I will order up a few of those then and a RCA to XLR cable just in case I need to connect up to bars Pa as you previously said. Again thanks for your help you are giving me no end of great knowledge! – You got to start somewhere right!

Thanks mate, yeah I see it has the rca output and mic and headphones inputs which gives me more options. I have rca to jack cable so will invest in a few rca to rcas 🙂 Thanks again!

P.s What cables would you recommend company wise then? I dont want to spend a fortune but I dont want crappy ones for a couple quid.. Also as soon as I get The MTP2 I will need a speaker setup then will be hitting the bars/pubs for gigs so for around £300 I’ve seen an active speaker set by Ibiza would they do alright do you think?

For RCA to RCA will these do the job? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cable-Pro-Double-RCA-Phono-Male-to-6-3mm-1-4-Jack-Plug-Lead-1-2M-01383-/370787179170?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Cables_Leads_Connectors&hash=item5654a35aa2

Thanks for your advice, to be able to do this I am upgrading controller to the numark mixtrack pro 2 with the inbuilt headphone jack and output then sorting the settings out on the serato software it comes with as this is only an issue because I have a very limited setup. When I do eventually get the Mixtrack pro2 what cables will I need for output to my speakers? Thanks for all your help so far has cleared a few things up 🙂

I have an audio splitter cable but it doesnt make a difference to the issue when I use the mono seperated option, Maybe I need a different type of cable as i have to click the headphones listen button to hear the track ive faded into with both speakers its all a bit weird 🙁

I had one, there cheap and fall apart :/ Would a splitter cable with the right configuration in the settings work? I can always play around for a few hours to get this correct as I need this spot on for gigs!

Thanks so much for your help but I can’t select nothing in the soundcard department, it doesnt let me deselect the option so i can only have one as primary sound card :/

Also I should mention its the same when I play this on my laptop when I use a splitter cable, I adjust the settings when the musics playing to see if I can sort it but most of the time If I hit the headphone button it sends tyhat sound out to the speakers, making any mixing worthless.. :/ Any more advice guys?

One is for my headphones and the other is for my speakers, but it doesnt want to split the signal it seems to be the same when I use the the headphones button or crossfader..
