So heres my headphone story. Found a bag today at my house that id not seen before. Inside this bag are a pair of brand new beats by dre solo HD headphones. Now its my birthday in a couple of days. So im guessing there for me off my very generous girlfriend. Must also add im very shocked shes got me anything to do with music as since i got into this couple of months ago she reckons i have a new love….. She may be correct haha! Anyway i decided to have a look at reviews and see if they are any good for djing. And iv read really mixed reviews. Some saying there basicly cr*p for djing and some saying there pretty decent. But iv found that maybe alot of people are hateing them because of the fact there “mainstream” and i do accept there probably overpriced. Now do i risk an ear bashing and ask if maybe she could swap them for some others? Or are they actully ok? Does anyone have any thoughts on my problem? I am sure shes seen them in the shop and because of the price she thinks they are vey good headphones and a great present for someone whos starting to really get into djing.
stu2110MemberThanks newportdj drew. The quality is much better now cheers. My next problem is (yes im still not quite done yet) it only records and playbacks when i have my cue button turned on on each deck. I want it to record whats actully coming out of my speakers. Not my headphones. Also when it is recording theres a delay. Its asif the playback on audacity is a second behind whats coming through on traktor? Cheers for sorting me out on adjusting the levels
stu2110MemberCheers guys. Cant wait for it to be honest. But like i said really nervous too. Couple of questions. Do you think i should have a playlist ready? But if i do, 1 – it could end up being a long gig 7pm till late. 2 – im pretty sure as the dri k gets flowing ill be getting requests quite alot? And where is best to put my sound system. Iv got my amp which will stay quite close to me. Then iv got my two speakers. Do i keep them close aswell so i can hear them extremely well or do i move them away from me so the whole place gets great sound?
stu2110MemberI jUst Dont want to annoy people. I mean im not a full on hardcore trance person or anything but my taste in music is very wide and i want other people to enjoy it to. But also i realise i have to enjoy it myself and im not going to by playing guetta and rihanna all night
stu2110MemberIm running on windows 7. Got traktor le, numark mixtrack pro, 1 year old samung laptop not sure on the spec for it but i can let you no once im home from work if you need to no that aswell? Cheers for trying to help everyone. Its a pain in the arse! I can get it to record but the quailty is very very poor and it only records my tracks that are being cued up (basicly only what i can hear through my head phones) apart from audacity everything is set is fine and works great
Cheers
Stustu2110MemberIv now got it to record whats playing 🙂 but…… Theres massive distortion (not sure of the spelling of that ha) so im half way there. Just need to figure out how to get much better sound. As its really bad?
stu2110MemberOk now iv changed the recording device to microsoft sound mapper -input. Is this correct? I now get a error message saying “error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate” still really stick and feel such an idiot! Thanks for trying to help. Any idea of what i do now?
stu2110MemberCurrently my audacity preferences are ;
