I’m using the S4 Mk II with a MacBook Pro and have had no issues with it. Having run it for several hours at a time I haven’t had any of the issues you’ve faced.
Just downloaded the new updates and haven’t had a chance to run it since but I suspect you have a bad power supply. It can be something Ive come across before in electronic gear where when the internal temps get up to a certain level a resistor or capacitor overheats and things stop working properly.

You might try setting the unit on a laptop cooling desk… the kind that has fans built into the unit and keep the laptop from getting hot. They run off USB
Either that or simply elevate the S4 and get some airflow around it somehow.

That may seem silly but it’s a cheap way to figure out if it’s heat related.

    Hope it helps,

    Thanks for the greeting everyone…

    Now I have a question.

I have a Traktor S4 Mk II which I love, and I want to move into creating my own music beats, rhythms etc… I have seen the Korg Volca series bundle which seems pretty cool, especially for the price. My question is this: Will it work with the Traktor and is it worth the money or is there a better system for creating your own work?

Thanks in advance folks… your thoughts are greatly appreciated

Thanks Terry. I do have the passion and I can’t wait to get fully under way! Soon.. very soon.
