Thanks that helps a lot! Just about to buy one, maybe waiting til January for the full lightning version.

Only wondering what to do if I encounter pioneer cdjs in a club and don´t have rekordbox-prepared tracks…?

In the software I have possibilities like bpm detection. Can mix with digital sources. And record both via software. I wanna use digital files but also my 1210s with classic vinyl (no dvs)…

Do you need a Wi-Fi Router or is a direct connection between Tablet and Laptop possible.

    Nice idea!

    More details about your setup?

    Tablet?
    Software?

The moment I drag my iTunes library into the rekordbox application for example. OK, let´s do this with LAN and WLAN turned off. But who knows my computer doesn´t send my tracklist as soon at it is online the next time?

I´m bored of reading EULAs of every country pioneer thinks of sending data to.

Im thinking of buying an XDJ R 1, because I want the flexibility if someone brings a CD (and as a backup). I like the classic set and that the audience actually sees what I´m doing. I also like the contemporary browsing possibilities via iPhone and remotebox. All other browsing possibilities on controllers are outdated in my opinion (even S8 and NV). We are used to touchscreens and “spotlight” nowadays ;-]

The other solution would be a laptop screen to browse. But I don´t want to “check my E-mails” on a set. Maybe I should put the laptop in my back same way as a crate back in the old days…

If you like mixvibes. Does it work with the R 1?

Concerning playlists: What makes the difference between a rekordbox-playlist and a playlist made out of plain Windows-Folders?

    Thank you!

…have a stick wether it be with rekordbox prepared or not, …

What makes the difference concerning functionality on Pioneer gear?

The Problem with controllers is the big computer screen you have to look at. We remember the old days with vinyl, when we were able to look into the eye of the audience and not into a “TV-Set”.

On the other hand CDs are still very present everywhere in society despite the digital music tracks that specialized DJs indeed need. It´s a great advantage to buy one track only online. But on a gig you need the possibility to also use a CD. You have to be flexible.

    @DJ
Vintage: The vinyl recordbox ist substituted by digital tracks. That´s nice! But look at the extra gear you have to carry with you as a backup! That´s the price of the improved functionalities.

I a desperately looking for a digital system with CDs but without a computer screen in my setup.
