Easy. Play a song people are very familiar with. I play house, deep house, melbourne, and trap, so if i can find a remix to a well known song that fits into these genres, its absolutely money. Melbourne in particular has soo many remix’s to new and old radio hits.

However nothing quite works better than getting some hot chicks shaking their behinds. Make sure the girls get drunk and cater to their tastes if possible.

When you have the two songs synced bring the tempo down/up to the original tempo of the track your bringing in. An easy way of doing this if it is a substantial change in tempo is to move 1 bpm every 4 or 8 beats.

Also, trap is generally around 70/140 bpm or 100 bpm. 100 bpm stuff could be considered “twerk” music. It is not always those two bpm’s though; my trap playlist goes from 70 to 160 bpm and everything inbetween.

So trap is hip hop influened EDM using an 808 drum kit. AKA rolling hi-hats and snares and drops with heavy, heavy bass. Some big name trap producers include:

Diplo, Flosstradamus, Brillz, Bro Safari, RL Grime, Baauer, Yellow Claw, DJ Snake, Loudpvck, UZ, Party Favor, TWRK…

HOWEVER!!!! All trap is not like these guys. I personally enjoy chilled out kind of stuff that is not as generic as most trap music.

    Songs like:
    Branchez – Truth
    What so Not – Jaguar
Parachute Youth – Awake Now (What So Not Remix)
    Madeon – Technicolor (Grandtheft Remix)

I have a couple trap mixes on my soundcloud. Check em out!! soundcloud.com/Mazierskkk

I do the same thing to an extent brotha. Just know this.. Those transitions that you knew weren’t exactly right or could have been done better? 90% of your listeners didn’t even notice. As dj’s our ears are much more inclined than the average (drunk) person at the club/bar/party. Every set isn’t going to be perfect so just keep at it and don’t get discouraged!!

Clockwork has a Seven Nation Army remix, Joel Fletcher has a Jump Around remix, Dan Absent has a lot of bootlegs to well known songs if you’re into melbourne. Honestly just search for popular artists that you enjoy on youtube and stick “house bootleg” or “house remix” at the end. Most of them will have DL links.. Good luck!
