I’ve used applications that use Discogs (and other algorithms) but none have been as straightforward as the mobile apps or they felt clumsy and I didn’t feel comfortable with most of the results. The important process for me is assuring the correct artist, title, and release year.”

Awesome question! I’m a sucker for a good Shazam or SoundHound, even Google Play has got in on the act, although they don’t seem to be as good as of right now.
You know what, there WAS a small desktop app that did this a few years ago, but I don’t recall its name and I never heard much more of it. I wonder if they exist? Or there are other web-based solutions, for instance, that you could run from desktops? This is where traditionally our fantastic readership comes in…
