now i can get a wego for 300$ or a Ergo for 500$, portability is somewhat important to me but so is features… is the extra 200$ worth it for a bit of bulkyness?

    a bit about me:

    – starting at house parties, hoping to get into the clubbing/bar scene one day
    – i’d say starting out i would travel a lot, which is why the wego appeals to me… but the dj ergo sounds like I could use it longer term as I get good
    – its my first controller, so I figured the extra 200$ if i go with the wego can be used on headphones and purchasing songs
    – i only use VDJ and its all i use which is why i like these two controllers
    – my music would be alll over the place (edm, top 40, rock, rnb rap) but I’m all about just transitioning to the next song to the next while trying to keep the crowd moving. A little ADHD with my music actually ;P

I’ve seen youtube videos of what the wego can do and its amazing! But perhaps the extra features on the ergo seemed better long term? but damn that portability is sure nice!

Be aware that the DDJ WEGO uses a lot of USB power and is only USB Powered. Make sure you have an additional powered USB hub just in case. It depends on the system you are using. This is based on a friend’s experience with his; it hung up 4 times in one night and he ended up plugging it into another external powered USB hub which resolved his hang issue . It is a very popular and portable little system and works with Serato, Traktor, and Virtual DJ.

I agree Denon makes great gear, but they jogs are sub par.

The Denon stuff is built like a tank – all metal and solid-feeling. I like everything that they make. But I like the platters on the WeGo MUCH better than the Denon platters on the 6000 or 2000. And yes, there’s a Traktor TSI available on the Pioneer site for the WeGo.

That’s the kinda feedback I was looking for, thanks. I am now between the WeGo and Denon MC2000. After your experience with the WeGo which controller would you recommend? Also is there mapping for the WeGo for Traktor Pro?

Thanks again for the honset feed back.

I’ve been DJing for a long time, and work in the DJ products industry currently. I actually went to a GC to just get my hands on one to see what Pioneer were up to. I never had any intention of buying anything – especially since the WeGo is firmly out of what I would consider my level of DJing.

    I was wrong.

The WeGo is not only a well built controller, but it’s also a BLAST to play with. It pains me to admit this, because Pioneer is a direct competitor to me, but credit where credit is due. After playing with that WeGo, I plopped down my credit card and bought it. And even though I have a pretty amazing setup, I still play with it regularly.

So I highly recommend the WeGo to anyone looking for a GOOD, low cost “all-in-one” style controller. It’s great kit.

    Hi everyone,
i’ve been reading the website and the forum for a while. I’ve subscribed to the free e-mail course wanting to make a hobby out of Djing and maybe house parties with friends. I know that the first thing to consider is the software. Looking at what i want to do and the controllers available with each software, i will go with Serato.

So here are the controller i’m considering: Denon MC 2000 (349$), Pioneer WeGo (299$) and the Mixtrack Pro (which is on sale at 169$ since the MT proII is out 299$). The question is: Is the Mixtrack Pro still a good choice or should i go with a newer controller? I don’t care to spend a bit more money for a controller that i will not outgrow too fast. I would have considered the Reloop TM2 but its not available in Canada.

    Thanks for your help

WILL the WeGo eventually work with Djay app for the iPad?
Not until you make a mapping and it still might not… So unsure

WILL either unit work with the NEW Trakor iPad app?
    No.

Is there another unit That I should consider?
    Mixtrack Pro II

It is a nice and fun controller.
However the layout and things are totally non-standard and while intuitive to some, very scary for others… kinda like the new MS office hehe.
It still falls into the category “entry” or consumer controllers, so many pros may look down on it, however it is perfectly fine to do a gig with and due to its small package is very easy to transport.
The price is not cheap for an all plastic construction.

The thing I like about the iDJ is the fact that all you need apart from the controller is the iPad which even fits inside the unit. So, no cables, no laptop stand, nothing. There is a custom backpack so travel shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Because of the iPad connector it charges it, which I like.

I have been researching for the past few weeks and there is just so much information about all these controllers. I am looking to buy one of these guys but I just don’t know. Would love some input from you guys..please help!

Seems like the iDj Pro get the best reviews, but that unit is kinda big so I think I am ruling that one out, plus I cant connect it to my mac.

I want something that works with my iPad and Mac.
Something that is easy to travel with or use while sitting around ect….thus is why I am between these two units

WILL the WeGo eventually work with Djay app for the iPad?

Is there another unit That I should consider?

    Please Help guys!

After my hercules mk 4 met with it’s untimley demise i am back in the market for a new controller. now i’ve been hearing alot of good things about the DDJ wego but i want to hear from those who have either tried it out or have bought one and used it in a set.

What are the pros and Cons to this piece of kit?
