After a week of my account being out of wack, I am back.
During this time, I have simplified my design and have a logo that I am actually quite happy with.

(the middle would still be red, but I only had MS paint to work with)So, hoping these ‘inspired by’ logos wouldn’t potentially get me in trouble. It is based off the ‘sentry’ from the game Portal Which looks like this:
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantDoes anyone happen to know, do you need the full version of the software for this, or could I get by with just Serato Intro?
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantOkay, so the text is good now
What would you suggest to replace the diamond then? I’d like to have a small logo similar to how Tiesto has one.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantDom,
I’ve actually thought about that, but with the origins of my name, that’s where I fear that I tread on borderline copyright infringement. the 2 ideas I had are both derived from a ‘sentry’ that has a very distinct look to it.
I googled it to see what I could use and literally EVERYTHING that came up was from either Team Fortress 2 and Portal, and I fear that’s treading on thin water.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantI was thinking like this. I was thinking the same thing as your suggestion.
Here’s the image that I was going to place next to my name.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantI’ve got photoshop and can vector it out when I finalize the design. I might keep the horizontal spaces (don’t want the E looking like an O) Might even change the E to make it more like an E.
I’ll post another couple of versions later (when I get back to my main PC)
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipant@scott, I appreciate the advice, but I don’t know anyone in a graphic design field. I also don’t have the money to pay a graphic designer to make a logo for me.
What about something like this?
I’ve also come up with an idea for a small image (similar to Tiesto). I haven’t uploaded that one yet, but more or less, it’s a diamond shape with the waveform of my name going across it.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantDJ name is same as username. Sentri.
In regards to styles, I’ve always leaned a bit towards trance, dance, and techno (I’m still trying to figure out sub genres). Part of my scene is going to be at a local gaming convention so some of my sets will be game remixes, but if I could go without a gaming related logo so that I could use it everywhere, that’s what I’m looking for.
As for my favorite DJs, I like Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Darude (for more than just Sandstorm! LOL), Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (I listen the their radio shows all the time at work!) That really only names a few, but they were the ones that got me into EDM and wanting to DJ.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantOkay, cool. Thanks Vintage!
I’ll have to see if I can find something similar to that over here in the US. Also, heh, like a derp I didn’t think about the power for the main unit.
Usually our panel is approved within the con’s schedule and i just brought the mics in and the sound guys hooked it up and everything for us. But because of an issue last year, we didn’t get it and ran the panel out of schedule, but without mics. Needless to say, that didn’t really go all that well. I planned on DJing while we are gathering a crowd before we start, so being able to hook up the mics would be an advantage.
Worse comes for worse, I’ll just borrow my dad’s mic for our one person. The rest of us are usually loud enough!
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantLiterally just a placeholder as I just started it up last week.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantWhat excites me about digital DJing? My answer is probably one of the simplest answers. That I CAN DJ now. I’ve never had tons of money and the thought of turntables (or CDJs) and a mixer just was way too far out of my budget.
now I just run with my laptop (or desktop at home) and my DDJ-SB. Just rent speakers when I need them and it’s done.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantVintage pretty much got it. I found out that there was a company going by the name Sentri, but I’m still going to stick with it. For offline purposes, I simply go by Sentri, but I added the DJ in front of it for online so that way there is no confusion between myself and other entities of the same name.
Of course, I have no followers ATM as I’ve never had a gig and just started recently. I am in the process of creating a web page, myself though and I intend to it to be the central hub for my music and everything.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantThat’s what I needed to know! Thanks.
chaosdynasty37@gmail.comParticipantSome of these people may actually pay for these slots. I’ve actually done accounts receivable for a company (not music related) and when they were looking into a new web hosting service and asking how to show up near the top on google, that’s when numbers started being thrown around. unfortunately, in order to show up in the top slots on search engines, you literally have to pay a price for it.
