D-JamParticipant
I’m a big kid at heart. 😉

I’ve heard they’re also very hard on piracy, and some clubs even use a program to scan a DJ’s hard drive to make sure his music is legal.
D-JamParticipantNo…it’s hard in America to catch European sports of any kind.
Plenty of boring baseball (especially with the Cubs losing all the time), football in the fall, basketball, and the small oasis of hockey.
I wish I could more easily catch stuff like F1, IHF, and the Premier and Champions Leagues. Just costs too much to get something on the TV or net. 🙁
D-JamParticipantThe + and – buttons on the right side.
D-JamParticipantI’m using my old Sony MDR-V6 headphones.
I had the newer Sony silver ones, but they broke…then a pair of Stanton headphones…then Denon.
I went back to my old Sonys because the one spot where the other headphones break, that spot on the MDR-V6 is made of metal. I won’t even bother with any other headphones if I can see they’ll break in that one joint.
D-JamParticipantAbleton IMHO is a great setup if you’re doing the live PA or mashup thing…like Girl Talk or 2ManyDJs.
June 25, 2011 at 2:02 pm in reply to: What type of person is the most annoying during your set? #586D-JamParticipantMy answer are “trixies”
That’s a term I use for the typical girls who come into the club and think they’re so important or special because they have a vagina. They come up, ask for music that usually conflicts with the overall vibe of the night, but insist you play it for various excuses that all lead up to a sense of entitlement because they’re women.
They generally flirt around for free drinks from men, but keep insisting outside of the club that they pay for their own drinks, are going to school, and aren’t just a pair of tits.
Every time I speak of annoying people, requests, etc…it’s the trixies that come to mind.
D-JamParticipantMaking pizza for friends tonight. Going to work on a mix over the weekend.
June 24, 2011 at 10:32 pm in reply to: Do you play a musical instrument? (Recorder doesn't count…) #468D-JamParticipantSaxophone. Also did some very basic trumpet.
D-JamParticipantI know another DJ named “Illanoiz”. Hip-Hop DJ who uses Serato Scratch Live.
Welcome to the forum.
D-JamParticipantIllinoize, post: 368 wrote: Love for music. I’ve played several instruments in the past so I guess it was a natural progression. Also grew up listening to classic Chicago House music, I’m sure D-Jam could say the same!
WBMX, WGCI, and even B96 back then did do wonders.
D-JamParticipantThis isn’t on audience applause is it?
If so, then it’s just a scam to get free DJs and a crowd.
If not, then I’d assume it’s turntablism/controllerism.

Totally agree!
I still pick up new remixes that pop up. It’s timeless.
D-JamParticipantI play different styles depending on the moment. Sometimes I’ll play deep soulful house or funky “jackin” house. Other times I’ll intertwine electro house with breaks. I recently got into more upbeat techno and tech-house. I also love energetic big room trance.
When I started back in 1992, I was buying a lot of the house from 1987-1991, but rave techno was also big at the time, so also played that.
D-JamParticipantI was supposed to play an hour between rock bands at a college campus party, but the last band swooped in, set up in 10 min, and started playing right over me. Very inconsiderate.
