if you have the money i would go for a 4 channel mixer. I started with the hercules mk4 a 2 channel mixer and you’ll be surprised how quickly your outgrow 2 decks if you practice and use it often. I now have the s4 and love every minute mixing with it. Also a perk with the s4 is the soundcard is built in and is amazing quality. Anyone else using the s4?

i know how you feel emma i’m the same way. I’ve laid down some long mixes only to re-listen and hear a flaw that most listeners would i doubt even acknowledge but too me it’s a huge error and i’ll usually scrap the mix or keep rerecording it.

Sorry that it is upside down i couldn’t figure out how to flip it right side up on the post. But anyways i’m currently running traktor pro 2 on a mbp. Kontrol s4, kontrol x1, lpd8, and novation launchapd.

i haven’t used a mic yet, but I have the s4 now and have been considering picking up one to use for mixing purposes like dub fx does. Has anyone used a mic for effect use?

My first controller was the hercules mk4. It was a good little friend for a short time. I’m currently using the kontrol s4 and love it!

I buy my videos from promo only and vj pro i think that is the name of it just started with this company.. not after all of this we not getting a call. can some one tell me where i am going wrong? thanks for any help and advise

just because you have a website sitting there doesn’t mean it is getting seen, read around on the articles. You need to get out there and get your name known and start your own image. Your doing a good start by djing parties for friends and such but you should try and branch from there and get gigs with clubs in your area, schools, referrals, etc. Just keep on keeping on and you’ll soon see your hard work start to pay off.

i think it is growing pretty quickly as well. Have any of you all heard the new korn song get up? they have a heavy dubstep rhythm in their song so its starting to grow more “mainstream” or at least branch out into other genres.

i got started in mixing more hip-hop/top 40 music for highschool gigs and such and quickly found myself moving more to deep house/electro and dubstep though.
