Thanks for the input, everyone. I’ve been using mixlr for several sessions and have been very happy with it.
Check it out!

Cross DJ had sync that’ll work with all my old tunes and soul tracks, plus the music library management seems A LOT better. My only concern is that Cross DJ might die out like Torq did. And only 6 cue points.
The version of Cross DJ that I am using is 1.3.4 which was a “special” version included with the iDJ3 Numark controller I purchased. The software does not qualify for the free upgrades that Cross offers – so I am at a dead end in that regard. Also, I posted this before the Cross 2.0 review came out. The new version looks really great, certainly more features that what I have now.
Also, I want to upgrade to a better quality mixing board, with more capabilities/controls. My current controller doesn’t even have cue-triggers on the board itself – I have to use my laptop keyboard for moving to cue points.
I may in the end go with Cross 2.0, but with a newer, more capable controller.

Of course I’m not a PRO (yet, lol)

I know they are trials but they worth to give them a try and then purchase the one you liked.
Thanks!!!
Daryl NorthropParticipantTerry – thanks for the insight!

Thanks! I will test out traktor and serato itch and see what feels right.
Daryl NorthropParticipantI used Atomix mp3 dj software for a while. Messed with pcdj a bit, too.
Daryl NorthropParticipantI firmly believe that a DJ’s duty is 50% entertain 50% educate by exposing people to new music, and new ways of hearing music mixed together. If I am playing mostly a dance set, I will drop in very danceable industrial or hip-hop tunes as a way of putting some variety in the mix – also, I try to vary the beat. 2 hours of 4/4 beats is just cruel to the crowd.
