Really nice soulful house track. This thread with the picks of the week is a really nice idea, please participate and post your track of the week.
It can become a really good source to find some else forgotten tracks.
Also please check out this thread http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/everybodys-all-time-top-3.2890/
and post your ‘all-time’ favourites.March 7, 2012 at 4:20 pm in reply to: What's your favourite online store for buying DJ music? #16362Gerd BauersfeldParticipantI usually check http://www.djshop.de and http://www.djdownload.com before buying, I prefer flac or wav format and the prices are ususally almost 1€ less per track than beatport or traxsource, but unfortunately they don’t have everything.
Gerd BauersfeldParticipantI found recently a real gem on Soundcloud:

Gerd BauersfeldParticipantAnd as a Bonus, another All Time Classic Tune, a real killer:

Gerd BauersfeldParticipantWell, I ripped my CD collection on a Windows-System with EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) the most accurate CD Ripper available. I ripped to mp3 320kbs, but I will rip my favourites again directly to flac-Format.
There a lot of tutorials out there how to get the best results with EAC (I recommend http://blowfish.be/eac/Rip/rip1.html and additional this http://blowfish.be/eac/Lossy/lossy.html if you want to rip to mp3 or ogg, and want the best results.)Gerd BauersfeldParticipantVinnyBlanc, post: 15953, member: 737 wrote: Mixcloud is less stringent than SoundCloud on “copyright infringement”…I expereienced this first hand when trying to post up a Mash-up recent. Kept rejecting it on soundcloud because it was keying on the Avicii – Levels…so I went to MixCloud and didn’t have an issue.
Thats because Mixcloud are paying their dues to the artists as any commercial radio would do. (Thats why you have to upload you playlist as well). SoundCloud doesnt do that, and has to make sure you have the permission to upload the music from the copyright holder.
If you want to support the artists who made the tracks in your mix, upload it to Mixcloud.
I myself, became even a nice response from one of the artists (Nelson Reis) on my playlist on Mixcloud.Gerd BauersfeldParticipantWtf, booking Dennis Ferrer and expecting he plays the Top 40 or what?
What DF has to say about DJing and producing see my post here: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/dennis-ferrer-interview.2800/
Gerd BauersfeldParticipantIt seems Mixcloud changed something, so the service of http://clouddownload.co.uk/ doesnt work anymore with Mixcloud links.
Gerd BauersfeldParticipantHow cool! One of the Artists from my playlist (Nelson Reis) commented my Mix on Mixclouded and added it to his favorites 😀 Feeling quite honored now (Excuse my excitement, but for me as a bedroom Dj its quite a thing)
Gerd BauersfeldParticipantWe discussed some solutions here: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/online-backup.2643/
Gerd BauersfeldParticipantI just remembered, there is a extensive list of music portals you can find it here: http://www.traktorbible.com/portals/
There should be something for everyone.Gerd BauersfeldParticipantmr_john, post: 15558, member: 87 wrote: Music is over regulated and artists are over compensated for it. Money should not even be a factor, but the wonderful system of capitalism saw to that. ….
Welcome in the real world!
I also think sport stars in soccer, football, baseball or whatever are over compensated. But thats how it works, if there are enough people willing to pay for this stuff, so be it.
No one forces me to buy the newest and hottest tracks, I still decide if its worth my money.Gerd BauersfeldParticipantI guess you mean digital music (mp3, wav, flac,…)
To find hot tracks:
You can listen to Tracks and Mixes on http://www.mixcloud.com/ and http://soundcloud.com where some producers also offer sometimes tracks for free.
http://www.djwhitehawk.com/ offers new tracklists for all genres. To buy your tracks:
I usually buy my music on http://www.djshop.de (they have not all the newest stuff, but they are ususally the cheapest for high quality flac-Format, which I prefer.
The next best shop (imo) is http://www.djdownload.com/ also good prices for high quality wav-Formats.
Then of course http://www.beatport.com/ and http://www.traxsource.com/ which are not cheap, but usually have all the latest and hottest tracks. They also provide per Genre good Charts and Tracklists to find the latest tracks.
If you are ok with using mp3 only http://www.amazon.com/ and iTunes are good sources as well. -
