I see you’ve identified your mode of delivery and some of the must-have features of what you are looking for. What I haven’t seen is what your budget is. I don’t want to assume that because you want a controller just for home that you can’t afford a NS7 or a MCS8000. So I would say, identify your budget and see which controller fits your price range with the features you want, and look at the online reviews. Cheers and good luck choosing!

I was once invited to a birthday party as a guest, and due to a muck-up by the DJ whose laptop decided it was time for a software upgrade and basically told Serato to “go f*ck yourself”, I ended up DJ’ing that party from my iPhone using the djay app. It turned out to be some of the most fun I’ve had in DJing a house party in years, especially when a bunch of twenty-something yr old kids throw words like “awesome”, “hero” and “savour” at you. They seemed to like the music too! My point is, forget the gear, if you’re confident in your abilities, gear is (almost totally) irrelevant.

Start with the basics and practice them. In addition to the courses here which are exceptional, youtube vids reviewing the main features are a good source as well. Spend some time and experiment as well…that’s the only way to push the bar.
