@ Chuck
It’s a full digital setup, Traktor in external mixmode, Mashine synced to Traktor.
I use the 4Tracktrigger (in the middle, top) to control 4 trackdecks in Traktor, switching to the F1 controllers ( 2 Remixdecks) is with the push of a button and back to trackdecks the same.
The DJM-850’s Β soundcard is used for Traktor.
The RMX-1000 is routed in the normal way, FX send/return on the mixer. Then there’s the Machine Mikro & the Spark Β drumcomputer (modified) on the left.
I use the Spark as a VST plugin in Machine for two reasons;
1.) No extra soundcard needed for Spark
2.)No hassle with syncing Spark to Traktor and Machine (wich I found to be impossible)Master BPM is set and controlled on the 4tracktrigger (and start/stop of Maschine & Spark)
Any given time I can choose to set a channel on the mixer to either trackdeck, remixdeck or sounds coming from Machine&SparkIn this way I created a setup that can take you anywhere…. basic mixing on 2 trackdecks, adding a 3rd or 4th deck for mashup’s… or adding remixdecks for single shot’s, loops etc.. or even adding a complete groovebox/drumcomputer to go really crazy stuff.
Most of times I use the Spark with 909.808 & Linndrum sounds loaded.
All is running from one notebook π

Any button will make you fly away πReverse EffectParticipantA little update :
Reverse EffectParticipantIf you’re lucky the onboard soundcard is good enough to give you some decent sound with ASIO4ALL drivers.
Won’t cost you anything… dowloads for free πReverse EffectParticipantMy trick… is a Mash-Up of four tracks with some well known sounds in it.
Works every time πReverse EffectParticipantThe sync button is a great tool… I love it and use it.
But.. beatmatching is an often needed skill to make a difference.Reverse EffectParticipantYeahhhhh
Maybe a B2B set with Paris Hilton in the future ???I’m going to avoid Ibiza in the near future π
Reverse EffectParticipantNice setup Chuck π
Did you modify the TSI files for the SC2900’s?(I really like the 2900’s, but didn’t like that it doesn’t have full support in Traktor (Led ring feedback)
Reverse EffectParticipantMy Controller is awesome because…it is.
Tried several… pioneer T1,Ergo, the s4… it works but I needed something far better.A friend of mine is a real specialist when it comes to DJ gear and showed me some 4midiloop stuff.
He got me interested for this but I wanted to use Traktor in external mix mode and have control over the midiclock function.
And there she was… the 4Tracktrigger… sold!Reverse EffectParticipantMost embarassing can be a succes sometimes…
Well… here’s my story,
A little while ago a gorgeous lady (ex girlfriend) asked me to come over for a gig to Miami at a private party.
Since I was single at the time I didn’t want to dissapoint her.. hehe π
After some talking back and forth they (my ex and the organisation) promised me that the only gear I had to bring along was the Pioneer RMX-1000 and a usb stick. So I didn’t have to carry my controller and notebook with me.
Great… I like easy travelling, a specially to the U.S.D-Day….
I arrived @ the party only one hour before my gig. Things left to do…. hook up my RMX-1000 and transfer my tracks to the notebook.
I went to the booth to see the finest controller I’ve ever seen in pristine condition…WOW!!!
A broken pitch fader and 1 working jogwheel… great! π
The other DJ’s did not care… auto sync solves everything.
Well… not for the music that I brought allong… digitised hardhouse, recorded straight from vinyl and most of the tracks didn’t go well with autosync.I did what was posibble with the crippled gear but beat matching from deck 1 tot 2 was a hard job if not impossible at all.
I had to quickly reinvent how to DJ with this setup.
So I went from 2 tracks with a smooth transition to the 3rd track.. BAMMM!!! here you go (and repeating)
The crowd loved it to my suprise (I guess that was because they had more then enough alcohol and other stuff in their blood )I still have the recording… and man it’s awfull…but the crowd, they loved it
