I’ve never had any problems but I don’t play anything too commercial either. It’s like anywhere else, technically you should only play things you have the rights to, but it’s up to the label to flag it. Which I doubt happens very much there. There’s an option to put in your tracks, just like Mixcloud except you aren’t forced to do it. I always do whenever I upload a mix anywhere, spread the word on your favorite artists and all. I use Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Mixcrate and House Mixes. I find I get the most hits at House Mixes though. I get the least at Mixcloud.

Since you say big up djs you like then the top four for me are Richie Hawtin, John digweed Sasha and Chris leibing…. seen seth troxler for the first time his year… well impressed.

Idont think there will ever be djs like sasha and john digweed again….. they hold mixes for sooo long you start to question whether the elements you are listening to are from the last track or new one…. its simply breathtaking. Correct me if im wrong but there are not to many djs that have the love for the art of mixing like they do anymore???

Good post D-Jam. See this is where the difference comes in. To me Hawtin, Sasha and Digs, and Leibing are not underground. They’re not Guetta I guess but not really underground either. Nice to see Neelix get some love this year though (at least in my opinion). Great producer, decent dj. At the end of the day though, none of it matters to me. I know who I like.

For what it’s worth I get more plays on house-mixes.com. Soundcloud is more professional though.

Spotify works pretty well in my experience. The truth is there is no shortcut to this though. You need to dive in and spend the time digging. Over time you’ll learn the labels that release music you like and you’ll learn the labels to avoid. This knowledge will make digging quicker and easier. If you aren’t willing to put in the time and effort then you will continue to play the same stuff as everyone else. If you want to have your own individual sound, there are no shortcuts.

Sounds to me like you like trance. Probably progressive trance. Start there and see what you find. Like all genres trance can be subdivided into a lot of subgenres. It might take you awhile to find exactly what you’re looking for.
