    If the table ois at the correct height and you are having fun jumping around then hopefully your back won’t get too sore. I find pain is much less if you keep moving as opposed to standing still. If you are thinking of sitting then best to stick to the “commercial” type of mixing ie wedding DJ. Sitting at a club will do nothing but kill your career.

    I find it funny that software like Ableton wasn’t mentioned. I remember when some prominent DJs started using this instead of deckss and there was a big outrage about “Ableton DJs”.

    Soundcloud is definitely the more popular of the two. That being said I would be putting my tunes on both to get more exposure.

    Its just a different system for a different type of DJ. If I had heard about this 4 years ago it would be the best DJ related news I’d heard in a long time cause I only used the CDJ + mixer setup with the occasional vinyl set here and there.

    I like glitch hop. It was pretty popular (in a more underground type of way) years ago, before dubstep (or brostep) was big commercially. It already kinda made a revival not too long ago but seems to be fading again. I think it will be similar to moombahton/110 in the fatc it enjoyed some commercial success but will never totally dominate the music scene like dubstep did.

    Yeah you’re probably right. I’m moving back home to Australia in less than a week so I’ll need some stuff to keep me busy. I’ll have to get some mapping done finally.

    Its a great piece of kit but does not offer anything that isn’t already available. Its obviously for the DJs who still prefer to stick to CDJ and mixer setups over digital. It offers a lot of flexibility and I’m sure plays very well with Traktor. Like Terry said, the idea of wireless is a little scary. Everyone owns iphones these days too.

    I guess the whole point is to make the tracks more exclusive. The producer/record label/decision maker doesn’t want everybody spinning their tune. Commercial success or high sales volume are obviously not the focus here. You have to respect them sticking to their guns and doing this.

    I was looking in to this the other day so I could access my netflix account in other countries. For like $7 a month you could get around the restrictions. Pretty good solution.

    If Denon keep going the way they are going I’m sure a lot of smaller clubs will make the jump from Pioneer. The price point is hard to ignore for the quality they appear to have.

    The toughest thing is getting used to how sensitive the record is to touch. Its easy to be heavy handed. Even the slightest pressure, nudge or pinch of the spindle will make a difference. I started on vinyl, moved to CDJs and then to digital. I brought another set of turntables to keep my skills tight + improve scratching but I must admit if I haven’t touched them in ages, it takes a few mixes to get dialled again.
