Digital DJ Tips reader Johnny asks: “Am I able to highlight multiple tracks in Serato DJ Pro and enter data for all of them at once? For example, can I select eight tracks and change their album fields simultaneously so they are all labelled with the same album title?”

Digital DJ Tips Says:

You can do it in Serato DJ Pro (or Serato DJ Lite for that matter): just highlight the tracks that you want to change, click on the field you want to change, enter the data, and it’ll change it all within Serato’s browser. You can also do it using good ol’ iTunes: it’s just a matter of highlighting all the tracks whose metadata you want to edit, right-click, then choose “Get Info”. This brings up a window where you can change track details, artwork and other data simultaneously.

Another way to do it is with an app called MetaBliss from Mixed In Key which lets you edit tags for hundreds of tracks at once, and it cleans them up too which is great if you’ve got an older MP3 collection using older spec ID3 tags and metadata.

What software do you use to manage your music library and keep those tags in check? Do you swear by iTunes, or do you prefer a different app? Share your thoughts and software suggestions below.
