The Lowdown

All in all, it’s a decent controller bag that can adequately protect your laptop and DJ gear. But it isn’t waterproof, and at this price, that makes it only average value for money.

First Impressions / Setting up

The DJC-SC2 is a decent bag that can carry your controller and some DJ gear, but unless you’re a minimal type, don’t expect to fit your entire gig set-up in it. It’s on the pricier side as far as controller bags go, plus it isn’t waterproof.

However, it is a discrete and functional bag that’s easy to take around. Although it’s tempting to compare it to a shoulder bag like the Magma Digi Control Bag XL Plus, the DJC-SC2 is in some ways more versatile mainly because you can carry it as a backpack too.

SC2 Rear
The bag can be carried as a backpack using the shoulder straps shown here. If you don’t want to use them, there’s a zippered compartment that you can use to stash the straps in.

What I really like about this bag is how slim it is without totally sacrificing protection. At around eight inches thick, it isn’t that heavy either, weighing in at five pounds. Although some storage sacrifices were made to create this form factor (I would’ve wanted the front pockets to be deeper, for instance…), it’s just a matter of deciding whether its small size is a good tradeoff for fully comprehensive DJ gear storage.

All in all, it’s a decent controller bag that can adequately protect your laptop and DJ gear, as long as you’re not in a downpour. You’re paying extra for the brand name, though, and considering the level of protection on offer, I think that makes it more expensive than most DJs will find acceptable.

Conclusion

The DJC-SC2 is a decent bag that can carry your controller and some DJ gear, but unless you’re a minimal type, don’t expect to fit your entire gig set-up in it. It’s on the pricier side as far as controller bags go, plus it isn’t waterproof.
