Rekordbox has a new feature, to allow you to make DJ edits/re-edits directly in the software. It sits alongside the existing modes, ie Export (for preparing your music), Performance (for DJing with controllers) and Lighting (for controlling club lights).

It is pretty limited, but that’s kind of the point here – it is for making quick, down and dirty edits to use in your sets with a minimum of fuss.

You can nevertheless save projects to come back to later, output audio to play immediately in your DJ sets, there’s a palette (think of it as a multiple item clipboard) to help you with clips you want to use in restructuring, and simple cut/paste/clone functions to make chopping up your track sections fast.

One of the best functions it that everything is tied to your existing Rekordbox beatgrids, so as long as your grids are accurate, all your cuts and copies will be clean.
