Glorious has announced its Sound Desk Compact, a new home studio workstation for producers with limited space. Available in black, white or walnut, it sits alongside the larger Sound Desk Pro in the company’s line-up.

It offers space for studio monitors at ear level and a screen at eye level, and incorporates two 3U racks with space for 19” outboard equipment, right within arm’s reach. It’s designed to easily accommodate a laptop, audio interface or synthesiser, but could equally work for a small to medium DJ controller alongside production gear.

Cleverly hidden features

The work surface hides a pull-out keyboard tray large enough to hold keyboards with up to 61 keys or similar peripherals. Glorious tells us that the keyboard tray can be installed at six different heights.

Furthermore, the workstation has multiple cable ducts, allowing it to be set up as a free-standing piece or flat against a wall. A cable channel built into the work surface allows centralised cable routing.

We think it looks particualrly nice in walnut, giving a “warehouse” aesthetic.

Manufactured “from different types of wooden boards”, it is 102 x 65 x 93 cm in size and weighs 25kg, with a suggested retail price of €449/$449/£419. It’s available now. More info on the Glorious website.
