Reloop has announced the RP-2000 Mk4 entry-level DJ turntable, which brings improvements over the popular RP-2000 Mk3 model, such as a more rigid chassis and more refined controls.
Ultimately, this remains a classic design, very similar to the time-honoured Technics SL1200 Mk2, with a simple +/-8% pitch control, S-shaped tone arm, and all the other controls, buttons, and lights where you would expect them. No line output, no USB output, no extras – just the basics.
At 6.8kg, it also doesn’t have the heft of a professional turntable, but it’s no lightweight either. And for a beginner in 2026, it’s a notable step up from the awful lightweight Soundlab belt drive turntables that my generation learned on. For home use and smaller gigs, it looks perfectly capable.
What you do and don’t get
When buying a pair, remember that the RP-2000 Mk4 doesn’t come with a dust cover, which you should consider purchasing separately, but you do get a slipmat and an Ortofon OM black cartridge, so you’re able to get up and running straight away.
