    think i am just going to be echoing the words of others here … but i will still say it.

    every DJ should learn how to maually beat match… its a basic nacessity. its part of the learning curve. it is a cruicial part of djing.

    to be fair i don’t think you can call your self a DJ untill you have learnt this skill. (in my opinion)

    however, i am not against the sync button, as i honestly belive it can be a valuable tool. but that is all it is… a tool. it should not be rellied upon…. why?? becasue it will let you down!!!

    they take a bit of getting use too. the first few monthinto my residancy, and i was going home and my ears where ringing for hours on end. so i decieded to try these out as they fairly cheap, and they have great reviews.

    what gear you using?

    In the club i play in, i bring my own Laptop (with traktor pro2 installed), A Traktor Kontrol s2, and of course my external hard drive with my music collection.

    the only wire i realy need is a RCA to RCA stereo cable. i use this to come out of my ouput on my Kontrol s2, and plug into the line in, on 1 of the channels on the in house mixer.

    but like steelo said, get intouch with the club, ask what gear they are using.

    In my expierience…if you don’t ask, you won’t get.

    You have to be pro-active, i was in a similar situation to you about a year ago, i had been practicing non stop for a year… but i was still playing to my self in my bedroom.

    i took it upon my self to get out their and find my self an opertunity. a few mixtapes/emails/letters later, i have my own residancy at a loacl club 3-4 times a week. i host my own club night, and i recently played a 5-6 hour club set for the UK clothing chain “TopShop” in one of their city stores.

    so if i was you, i would just go and talk too who ever is organising the event, tell em what you do, what your all about, sell your self… like i said , if you don’t ask you won’t get .

    Thanks for the sound advice

    my main wurry was why change or try and fix something if it is not broke??

    but at the same time i don’t want to miss out…..if your with me.

    think it’s going to be a case of finding a spell where i have a week or so in between gigs, and just hammer it to make sure that it stands up to the punishment

    …… was just wondering what other dj’s out their thought of this new version of traktor?

    Am using windows on a sony viao…. All preped for DJing and nothing but DJing.

    A was just wurried that if i installed it in between gigs and i encounter issues with it i will be rushing to sort it out. But like you said i can always go back to previouse version.

    I often use mash ups in my sets, i think it can spice things up, and it can make you stand out from other DJs in your local area or even in the same club.

    The only thing i would say is don’t over use them, but if dropped at the right time ….. BOOM!!

    I am using the s2 at my weekly residancy, and i can honestly say it more than holds its own, superb piece of kit…..even better piece of Kit if your a Traktor Lover ….which i am
