Honestly how I describe the genre to sub-genre from what’s being heard of most now and days:
EDM< Techno/House/Dubstep/Trance/Hardstyle/Hardcore/Moombahton/Trap
House< Progressive-house/Tech-house/Electro-house< dirty-electro/Dirty dutch/malaysian/melbourne
Dubstep< Drumstep/DnB
Trance< Ambient/Vocal
Hardstyle< Jumpstyle
Hardcore< Happy hardcore/Rave/Speedcore
Breakbeat< Moombahton
Trapstep(yes, trap)< EDM remixes/Rap remixes/Originals

…But I’m no expert.

I also had a DJ buddy write a post not too long ago about how a lady friend wouldn’t date him because he was a DJ. Even though in reality he is a down to earth faithful guy.

I think now and days some DJs are getting that “I’m a rockstar, I’ll do what I want with who I want” mentality and are abusing it. Then, THAT overshadows the other “humble/honest” DJs, and so on and so on… I think that’s how I was trying to say it? Just be honest with yourself, be humble and ignore the temptations (unless you’re the let’s get even type, then do what you have to do).

I’m guessing anything gold plated would be your best bet. Not sure if you’ll be able to find one with the talk thingy though.

Yeah not pushing you to do illegal things here.. lol. I’m already in trouble for some mistakes as a teen but yeah.. I guess to make it that underground feel is what I meant?

Yeah, I dont plan on buying a new laptop anytime soon. I’m tight on money right now.
@tommy; theres 95 processes running
@red eye; yeah ive ran vdj on here also before i got traktor, no problems. even when i first got traktor i had no problems.
it doesnt lag every single time i record or mix live but it has gotten more consistent as time goes on.
I actually played on CDJs for the first time thursday and i really liked it. it was a challenge with no wave forms, lol.
but im actually gonna start using the CDJs when i can in a club setting or if another person would let me borrow theres and ill just use traktor at private parties, smaller venues.

Also, do you think if I ran Traktor through Pioneer CDJ 850s using the HID mode on the CDJs, I would still have a problem?Recently if I do too much, add effects, etc.. sometimes even just use the crossfader, the music will just lag like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve actually been thinking about cashing out on using laptops/controllers and going straight CDJs.

I say we all team up with locals and each do our own warehouse rave. You COULD make it legal but it kind of takes away from the fact of it being “underground”. I just caught word of a warehouse rave 3 hours from where I live where they made it legal. Rented out an “abandoned” warehouse and is throwing the event there. They hired 5-0 and are selling tickets to it. I guess it’s still that experience though….

it’s barely 2 years old. a laptop. HP 2000
and theres still
319 of 442 gig in local disk (c:)
2.11 of 19.4 gig in recovery (d:)
1.07 of 3.95 gig in hp tools (e:)
None of them are red barring
The recovery disk looks like it could be close to red barring though..
