A pair of Pioneer CDJ 1000s….and a Rane mixer. Trying to step away from controllers/laptops… :p I’m saving up now… so hopefully in a year I’ll be able to buy the equipment I want/need.

IMO, I’d save up $500 and buy the S2 as it comes with Traktor. It took me a year of saving up also, but I got comfortable with DJing and made for sure it’s something that I wanted to do. Also, although it shouldn’t be a shame to use the mixtrack at a club/house party(which I’ve used before) I just wouldn’t take it with me.

I’ve valued everyone’s opinion and thank y’all very much for sharing with me! Yes, I know what I said about most of the local DJs here, my bad (we can all be a little self centered at times 😉 )

@Frosh by “warehouse rave” i mean everything there is to a “warehouse rave” from the secrecy of the location (which is hard as hell to find a location out here(i actually found the perfect spot then found out it was torn down 3 months ago)) to the generators powering 5-10k watts of pure bass(all genres).

Software upgrades? As in Traktor Pro 2.5/.6 etc.. you don’t? I could have sworn you did

Well it seems to me that you want more of an effects type controller/software? If so then yes, S4 is the way. You can do so much stuff and have it not be a hassle, using the f1 is a really big help also.

S2 it’s what I’m using and I haven’t had any problems with it. Plus you get free software upgrades for a lifetime

Honestly, I’d go with Traktor or Serato software if you’re planning on using CDJs as controllers. With Traktor you can download software to make CDJs compatible with it. I started with VDJ and IDJ3(cracked) but then upgraded to Traktor Pro 2 S2(abbut $500) (paid). So I use controllers with smaller gigs but in the clubs (most usually have CDJs) I just take my laptop and plug it in!

The S4 or you could use a 3/4 channel mixer but that would be a real hassle.
