Well I don’t remember where I saw the other ones but I have seen quite a few. I chose this one because It is the last one I saw it was at a soccer game at my school. This guy is a well known dj around here. Sorry but when I try to post that pic it just doesn’t work, just go here. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=342419179143661&set=a.342418952477017.95505.166286993423548&type=3&theater

seriously that’s your dream? I’m not saying its bad but its kind of really simple. Mine’s a pioneer DJM900 Nexus or a DJM 2000 and 4 CDJ2000s.

“The right thing” wasn’t done. I don’t mean to offend anyone who is from US but after the Casey Anthony case, the justice system there, sucks. George Zimmerman was not arrested because he claimed self-defense, nothing was done to him, apparently in the US you can shoot someone and claim self-defense. The worst of all is that after the witnesses gave their story, the mother of one of the witnesses which was a little kid said that her son told him that the police forced him to change his story into a way it is in favor to George Zimmerman. Also another of the witnesses said that the police tried to get her to change her testimony to Zimmerman’s favor.

If you want to explain those, go ahead. I know what Edit means, the word, but I really don’t understand when a song says (DJ ____ Edit)? And bootlegs, well I simply just don’t know.

Thanks guys. I’ve had this doubt for some time, i’ve been listening to podcasts, sets and mixes all over soundcloud trying to find the differences, this is what I found out:
Podcasts are more commercial, for simple hearing and also very promotive. I follow alot of famous DJs in soundcloud and I realized the radioshows (which are podcasts) they posted had always an intro/outro transition between every song, giving the listener a full play on that song. Also I noticed every weekly radioshow included a tracklist of songs that were released between those last couple of weeks. No old songs. So my conclusions were that podcast are a more commercial type of mix which always gives a good display of the songs it is like that listeners suscription to hear the new songs of the week. Also no rushed transitions, just so people can hear new music like with an ipod.
Of course all of these are mixes, but when a recording says “Electro Mix or House Mix” I realize it is ALWAYS rushed. like 10 songs in 10 minutes, I guess that’s hard to make but I don’t find any fun in hearing that. Some people might.
And sets I don’t know for sure but I think they are always live. Everytime I read a set, it says live set recorded on blabla club.

I know you said virtualDJ but Traktor Kontrol S2 is an amazing device, of course mainly mapped for traktor.
It controls 2 decks plus sample decks which are good to have.
It has great jogwheels in my opinion
The price was recently lowered so you’ll have to take advantage of that price NOW.
3 band EQs and Hot Cues, and FX.
    It has great build quality
Don’t know if it has analog inputs though, google it.

for $199? with that kind of features you can’t do better Phil. It killed the Mixtrack Pro in price and features. Yet I don’t know why it hasn’t reached a very popular level.
Is there anything better at that price point of less than $200?

But if I were you I’d do the same, one mistake with the company and I’m done with them. Luckily for me my bcd3000 works perfectly so I can’t complain about Behringer.

I had one once. I literally gave it away… and I still felt like I’d ripped the guy off.

Yeah the bcd2000 sucked, the bcd3000 is waayyy better. It is the fixed improved good version, don’t let yourself think the bcd3000 sucks because of the failure of the bcd2000.

Jonathon Brewer: About speakers I don’t know much. Maybe JBL & Yamaha they have good speakers, but at that budget I can only think of Behringer EuroLive series which I’ve heard good things. Check them out on Amazon. Lights? check Chauvet’s website. I only know chauvet.

First Lundgren. Well the BCD3000 Is mostly the same, only that I think the BCD2000 had some issues with software and windows/mac stuff. Well the Mixtrack doesn’t have a soundcard so you’ll have to get that separately (the Mixtrack Pro does have a soundcard but it cost more) the BCD3000 does have a soundcard at that price. So the mixtrack is more expensive cause you have to buy the soundcard separately.
Mixtrack doesn’t have a soundcard, the BCD3000 does.
The Mixtrack has better jogwheels though, if you find jogwheels as a necessity, get the mixtrack.
The BCD3000 cost $120 including a soundcard, the mixtrack $140 plus the Soundcard expense which might be from $50 to $100 more. so the Mixtrack is maybe around $190-240 in price.
The other differences are mainly small, not very important.

Well I really disagree with that. The Behringer Xenyx series is great, along with the EuroLive speakers, the BCD3000 works perfectly with me. They are coming out with a new mod gear series all in ones great, and some headphones. I believe they are great quality its just that they always go for the beginner cheaper part of the market, so people who already are into DJing think behringer sucks only cause its main target are beginners. Trust me Behringer is fine. Ive had the BCD3000 for 4-5 months now I think and no problems. Works great. And for $120 well, no one beats that price.

Depends on the alternatives. For example in South America we have Merengue and Reggaeton. So here you can start with bangers at any time, knowing that people will enjoy dancing reggaeton or merengue later. My thoughts are people don’t really know what dancing is until you come to south america. I’ve been in many clubs in aruba, usa and canada, and I never see people dancing, but that is not the point.
Think what people like to listen in your region besides the bangers, and top 40.
But at the same time, EDM is going worldwide, it is know a mainstream, so thousands of tracks are being released by day, each better than the other, it is amazing. So if you’re only playing house I wouldn’t think it would be a problem.
The only issue if having the money to buy that music.
If you don’t have a said alternative type of music:
You said your club gigs are around from 10-2 so that gives you 4 hours of music. If you mix intro/outro with some exceptions that gives you lets say what 15 tracks per hour? That’s 60 songs more or less, I’m positive you must have 60 songs to play within the bangers/top40 genre.

I don’t mean to promote another blog or anything but Ean Golden pretty much sums it up here, if you want to know about EQ mixing go here: http://www.djtechtools.com/2012/03/11/eq-critical-dj-techniques-theory/
That is all I have to say.
