If you want cdj use then, Your best bet is to buy and audio 6 soundcard package for £239gbp as this can be used as a dvs system this will enable you to use any cdjs or turntables, wherever you play,
Or if they do not have cdjs or turntables, you can just play off your kontrol X1.
But a traktor s2 or s4 would be a a lot better for your needs, as you get control over your decks, and effects plus the s4 can be used as a standalone mixer.
MatParticipantNot all clubs have the cdj2000s so if you do turn up to play and they don’t have any then you are stuck? like some people on this forum state, some clubs expect you to bring your own gear.
MatParticipantYes but if an s4 is out of your budget, then 2 pioneer cdj 2000 definetly will be.
MatParticipantAnd X1 will Control effects and both decks if you want it to, without anything else. Which is what I use when djing in clubs along with an external mixer.
because of your version of traktor, I’m not sure on the CDs side of things, you probably need traktor scratch pro for cdj use, plus a sound card, but maybe do one else can clarify.
MatParticipantAs above it does sound strange, make sure everything is going through LINE OR CD and not PHONO.
If not buy yourself a cheap mixer and run through that.

MatParticipantCheers I think I’ll just leave it without anything added to it.
Vintage to the rescue……AGAIN haha
MatParticipantI didn’t know wether people would get a vocal of there name, or dj name added into the mix at random points,
As one, this advertises yourself
And some other dj can’t pass it off as their own work, and try to get gigs using your mix tapes
Thank was more on the lines of what I meant,
Thanks for the reply.
MatParticipantThanks for all your help. I’ll probably record the ones that I want to listen to the most as I don’t want to burn all of them
MatParticipantThanks for reply.
Can I use my audio 6 in audacity?
Yeah it’s just the cost of getting music, seeing as I’ve already bought it once already, and gives me a good excuse to tell the Mrs why I need to play my records.
March 23, 2015 at 9:08 pm in reply to: New controller not too expensive but good enough to use in club #2161371MatParticipant1. How much do you plan on spending
2. What software are you using or plan to useI used CDs for a longtime then my controller and not 1 club has said anything.
Just plug your controller in to a spare channel on the clubs mixer, and away you go.
MatParticipantI had the pioneers sdj80x and thought they were fantastic, I had krk rokit 5s before that.
However they are huge, in a shop you don’t notice how big they really are.
So maybe try the 6s in either krk or pioneer, I can’t compare the pioneers to the krk as they were differnt sizes and obviously the pioneers had more bass due to size, but both sound great.
Sound quality is brilliant (I don’t produce, only dj) so was great for making mixes in ableton, traktor etc.
MatParticipantUK
MatParticipantsorry you can also use a 2 channels mixer with an audio 2 soundcard as traktor dj Will run through line on your mixer and your technics will be through the phono input but it’s limited to only playing 2 songs at a time. So either.
one iPad song into iPad song
one iPad song into one vinyl
One vinyl into another vinyl
One vinyl into a iPad songIf that makes sense
MatParticipantFrom what I understand what your after, the traktor s4 mk2 will work as a standalone mixer and also and traktor dj controller, so you can use 2 channels through ios and 2 with your decks.
You could also have any 4 channel mixer with and audio 2/6/10 traktor soundcard, a Apple cck adapter and use traktor dj this way then plug your decks into the 2 channels
MatParticipantWhen I dj in club’s, I only ever use my audio soundcard and a mk1 kontrol x1. No cdjs etc.
You could get and z1 mixer? Or a xone k2 as a mixer?
or buy A small 2,channel mixer and use that. -
