…and Chuck I have used the Roland BA-330…..and they are awesome! They have 4 …6.5 inch woofers and 2 ….tweeters. The Samson Express I use has a single 6.5 inch woofer and a tweeter with 30 watts…but let me tell you…it’s no joke in sound! And is $400 dollars less then the Roland. 😉

There are battery powered speakers out there. I just did a wedding ceremony for 110 people and the they heard every thing fine. With two 30 watt Samson Express battery operated speakers . They will cost you $200 per but they work excellent! They have stand adaptors and 3 channel mixer with Bluetooth all build in. When your doing voice and back ground music it doesn’t need to be loud. If you need to have them sound louder…get a sonic maximizer. They do have a desk top maximizer (QI-282) that I use to make my sound even more alive when doing out door weddings and back found music. I hope my two cents helps.

    Keep rockin…..

    Hey Paul,

Yes you can use your iPad as a back up to your set up. Software is your preference. I personally use Traktor and Djay by algorithm and also iDj for it’s midi capability. But it’s mainly Traktor.

I recently did a wedding where laptop wasn’t playing a certain file and my iPad did. Having it as a back up will really help you in your djing. I hope that helps you.

    Keep rockin….;-)

    Hey Brandon ,

I have wondered the same thing before. I use a mixture of powered tops for mids and high (Behringer d212). Then I have a QSC 2450 (500 watts per channel) powering (2) 15″ jbl passive subs. Running the amp to a behringer crossover and bbe 482 maximizer (from controller/mixer to maximizer to crossover). And I’ve have people loving the sounds! But I’m now getting powered subs. For portability. You sound like you have a good system…you may need just a crossover with a powered sub. Also look into a BBE maximizer ..they do make a difference in your sound. But, if you like to invest in a passive system it’s up to you. It’s just more to carry with you when you gig. Peavey has a 18″ sub (pv118) for $289 per sub and the tops are peavey pv115 are $229 per. But your amps will run you $400 on up. So I hope that helps…and I like to know what others think too.

    Thanks

Yes , I agree with you both. The music is changing. Peoples thinking is changing. I love R&B , I was in Chicago and seen how they step with R&B but it’s dying..and it burns Me up. One way I been keeping it alive is making podcast and my own online radio shows for the people that do like it. You be suprised that a lot in other European countries do like R&B, so I end up catering to them on my podcast.   And I also love soulful house;-)

thats just my 2 cents 😀 hope it helps you.

Everything you said is correct..I totally agree. I do just need portability and affordablity as well. So im looking at something i will use 6 to 8 times a year (for a Mobile Gig, Coffee shop, Small dance party, etc..). Otherwise it be a no brainer if, i was doing it more often, just QSC or EV.;) I been looking at subs mostly to get. I had 2 passive sub cabs with 15s” in them…and loved them…but now its just too much to lug around. I have a smaller car ( Hatchback with seat folded down) So a Active 12″ sub or two, with might do it. Any ideas on what you seen or heard that work good? Im looking at 2 Gemini GVX-SUB12P or one EV ZXA1-Sub 12″. But not heard of anyone thats heard what they sound like. But Chuck i really Respect your Opinion 😉 Thanks again…and keep rockin.

THATS AWESOME!! I also seen the Numark NPM-100 Monitor as well. If i cant get it into one bag i can fit one more with the 2 monitors in it.;) I just like the concept of the mini party. And a ample system to do alittle more if need be. But for just having the HDMX Jam Party Boombox…It did its thing in a pinch;) But Im still looking for Ideas, Thanks DJ SpecializED. 😉
