YES! YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!! lol
pilotmike327MemberVery cool indeed. Open the windows, blast the speakers, and you take “mobile dj” to a whole new level.
On a side note, I cannot STAND the type music he is being played. To each their own but…yuck!
pilotmike327MemberU31, I really appreciate the in-depth responses. Many thanks. Connecting it into my living rooms speakers had it working the way it should. I think I will just end up practicing from there to avoid any further headaches for now :p
pilotmike327MemberHey guys, I’ve tried all the recommended procedures here but still not getting anywhere :(. I have managed to figure out more or less what’s going on though.
I want to use the mixtrack pro to cue and the computers internal soundcard/speakers for the main out. The problem is when I select outputs and choose Master: chan 1-2 / Headphones: Chan 3-4, it’s telling the mixtrack to output the master sound out of the mixtrack’s chan 1-2 (which is connected to nothing). I need to find out how to change the master out to the internal speakers.
I tried the ASIO driver but unfortunatly I didn’t get anywhere with it. I’m just gonna keep on trying until I figure it out i guess. I’m so disappointed this turned out to be harder than I thought. I think if this doesn’t work i’m jut going to have to but a couple of speakers and route out the mixtracks chan 1-2.
pilotmike327MemberI do have to agree with this. The improvement over the years is worth noting.

pilotmike327Member@Emma: You rock. Just wanted to let you know π Great job with the detailed explanations
pilotmike327MemberJust finished watching the MLS “All-Stars” game vs Man U.
I think this game pretty much sums up what a joke U.S. Soccer is. I’m sorry if this offends any U.S. Soccer fans here, but European soccer is at a whole different caliber

To my surprise, I was much easier than I thought. I knew most of the tracks I was playing pretty well and all my cue points were set.
Anyone else does this?
You thouroughly know your tracks inside and out when… π
pilotmike327MemberJust a quick update:
*Postponing the house purchase for early next year. After a long discussion with the family it’s without a doubt the best desicion we could have made.
*My FAA exam isn’t until at least October so it gives me alot more time to actually learn the material instead of the answers! (lol, jk. i take my career seriously).
So yea, I’ll still be around, like it or not! :p
pilotmike327MemberAfter 2-3 months of research, I ordered the mixtrack pro this morning!! Should be here by Thursday.
My reasons for choosing this piece of hardware:
1) Constantly reviewed and recommended from others who use it.
2) Great intro controller providing the necessary features needed to really grasp the concept of DJing.
3) Built-in soundcard means less cables and less hassle.
4) Priced at less than $300 means less of a risk in investment. (if for some reason DJing just isn’t for me, it’s not such a hard hit on the wallet).I was also contemplating between the APC40, Twitch, and S4.
APC40: Main reason I didn’t get it is because the learning curve with this and Ableton is too much right now. Maybe if I really end up liking all of this, I might consider looking into it but for now I’m just trying to K.I.S.S.
Twitch: A little too much money than what I want to spend right now ($500). Seems like a great controller and really like the idea of no jogwheels, but it doesn’t come out for another month here and I’ve waited long enough! π Also, it’s geared more towards Serato than Traktor (eventually I want to use Traktor. It’s just been my personal preference after trying all the major 3 softwares).
S4: Man, this is my perfect controller!!! Traktor included and mapped specifically for this program. Everything you possibly need is on this controller. It even looks like sexymagicalawesomeness but at almost $1000, I’m not buying it until I can make some kind of income from djing.
So there it is. After a few months of building my library, reading articles, and being active on this forum, i’ve decided to finally go for it. I am very excited to see how it goes. I’ll post my own little review about it on a seperate thread for anyone who’s looking into getting one.
A question for Mixtrack users: Are you using the included VDJ or a different program? Why? Did you pay for it seperatly? Was it worth it?

http://www.abletonop.com/2011/07/how-to-dj-with-ableton-live-part-1/This whole website is great! Will be surfing it. I would love to find a video of someone actually mixing with ableton (no tutorial, no talking, just mixing with the screen split between what’s on the screen and what the DJ is doing with their hands.
@Emma: How does cueing work with ableton. I’ve been looking around and haven’t seen this actually done yet. I like to have different cue points within a track and jump around. Would this be possible? I have a feeling it is.
pilotmike327MemberActually, the educational store still has some. I hope I will be able to get one before they run out :/ Another possibility I was thinking is an iMac at home for major producing and mixing and getting an inexpensive laptop for mixing purposes only.
