only time i even think about it is when i have a vocal out. but be gentle. listen to the parameters on the break to get a good fit. kinda just like hpf and lpf
Richard DriverParticipantone two three four, two two three four, three two three four, four two three four. one! whats the prob? follow the first kick drum. dj 101
Richard DriverParticipantyo wtf up with that youtube post. WRONG WRONG WRONG! my 2 cents
Richard DriverParticipant“Find yourself a clear four bar portion of the song that youcan loop. It may even have a bit of a vocal to it as long as the loop is chopped correctly by you. Use that loop as the transition to your next song by letting it play out as you bring the other song in.”
nuff saidRichard DriverParticipant4 djs with 1 1/2 slots is the min. unless the compensate really really well for your peak time slot
Richard DriverParticipant‘Remember, approach it as, you are bringing the bar/restaurant/club a business by bringing them customers. You shouldn’t have to pay anything to the bar”
very great and accurate statement. some of these bar owners are going to try and turn it around like your trying to reserve you like a private party. dont give in. if you have a following of even just 25 people, no bar owner is going to deny that extra businessRichard DriverParticipantdj such and such lol
Richard DriverParticipantdam no bars? wtf? anywho let me try and help. im sure there are like union halls or banquet halls around. or like skittles said, throw a house party. if all that fails go out and find an abandon barn lol
Richard DriverParticipantno probs man. thanks for the responce tho 🙂

Richard DriverParticipantok. gig done. AND THE VERDICT IS…………. corner loading is the shit!!! was told to turn down the bass because the windows across the bar (bout 150ft) were rattling hard! lol

I wonder if anyone even sells mix CDs in a store now? I figure the insane amount of free mixes online would pretty much kill that underground market. Even Bill’s entire mix collection is now for sale online as MP3s.
dude im from the south side and mix cds are still everywhere. places like the megamall on Milwaukee or the supermall on 55th n Pulaski or all the hood malls like ford city or river oaks out in lansing have kiosks on just mix cps. yup, even your local barber shops and i still think there is this place on fullerton that is just a cd store lol. still going strong!!

I remember when I put a hot mix cassette into local stores back in 1994. I paid $600 for 100 cassettes and felt like I overpaid. From there I tried to design my own labels and inserts. I looked for solutions so I could make the cassettes at home on my own using some decent-quality cassette decks and a DAT. I later used a local Kinko’s to print and then manually cut the inserts. I found web sites selling simple plastic bags I could put around the cassettes so I would not have to pay for shrink wrapping.
Granted I didn’t sell cassettes for too long (nor did I ever make any money), but I kept using these new skills to make nice graphics for CDs, flyers, etc. Later this spawned into web design/development and now it’s my normal career.
You did well on your first attempt. Look into free services like pixlr and even freeware like GIMP if you do not want to shell out for Photoshop. Design print pieces in CMYK and web-based stuff in RGB.
Everything on that layout is clean, clear, and legible. Photo is great. Too many amateurs go nuts on text filters and such and thus they end up with a mess. Keep it up.
