Why would you want to?
Exactly – the question should be why would people like you when you hide your posts?
Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantMaybe use the Roman numeral “V” for 5, and stack it on top something like this (too lazy/untalented to fire up graphics program):
_V_

hmmm … let me not go there today, since we are all in a friendly mood

August 4, 2013 at 11:16 pm in reply to: Is it possible to convert Serato DJ cues to Rekordbox #42838Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantHere’s how one guy did it – requires jumping through some hoops, though
http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/23832463–INFO-Serato-to-Rekordbox-Crates-Cue-Points-Transfer-equation-Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantGreetings Sean – agree, this is a pretty friendly place to hang. These are just my observations, would like to hear input from the experts (like Terry_42, who seems to play with controllers for a living 🙂 ). Had a chance to fool around with an S!, seems solidly built, easy to use, has that good feel associated with Pioneer. However, it is dated and you could say it’s been superseded by the SX. S1 was designed for Serato Itch (since discontinued), SX for Serato DJ (whereas, even on Pioneer’s site, the S1 is listed as “now compatible with Serato DJ”. Most say the SX is better in every way for not much more money. However, it really depends on what you want – S1 is more portable, said to be easier to use, and with the recent price drops much more affordable.
Other than price, really can’t do wrong with Pioneer.
BTW – you’ve probably seen it, but this site has a really good controller guide:

Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantGreetz, and welcome to the ‘hood

July 31, 2013 at 2:31 am in reply to: Does anyone here use multiple internal/external music libraries for their SSD? #42704Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantGreetings, Erik – not really sure what the nature of your question is. If it’s about ssd reliability, no need to worry. Current SSD tech is extremely reliable, and indeed is used by enterprise storage vendors (such as EMC) as front end storage. Also much better performance, so actually it’s the best place for your library. If it’s about multiple copies of your library, by all means yes. My library lives on ssd, MacBook Pro – but also on time capsule, as well as 2 different external HD – can’t be too careful 🙂
BTW you can also have multiple iTunes libraries, here’s a guide:
http://support.digidna.net/entries/23250608-Creating-and-using-multiple-iTunes-librariesSteve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantNot a Mixtrack user, so this is just based on what I’ve read. As I understand it, the controller ships with DJ Intro rather than the full version of Serato, and not all the functions map to the Mixtrack – you have to upgrade. Perhaps this is the problem you are experiencing. Also, depending on the amount of time/effort you want to put in, you could download a demo version of Tractor Pro, a map for the controller (http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/mappingview.aspx?id=639) and give it a go.
General consensus seems to be Serato is easier to use, better for scratching, Traktor allows for more creativity (and is said to be the choice of pros, whatever that means). Agree with djrizki – what’s comfortable to you is what’s best.
But no matter which you choose, you will want to upgrade to the full version.
Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantSorry, I’m far from an expert at virtual DJ – some more info at this link:
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/179632/General_Discussion/KEYBOARD_MAPPING.htmlKeyboard mapping is kind of tedious, just have to read and play around until you get what you want. And yeah, there’s another way – if you have the pro full version, pick up an inexpensive controller like Numark Mixtrack Pro or Hercules DJControl Instinct. Both of these have built in sound cards, which you’ll need anyway. Much easier than a keyboard 😉
Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantNot meaning to be too harsh, but –
Edit – don’t want to start any flame wars, so i’ll just say Don Cherry is not a nice person.

Steve (k-rex) RichmanParticipantYou’ll need to use the vdjscript scripting language here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscriptSome relevant verbs:
- eq_high : set the treble equalizer.
- eq_mid : set the medium equalizer.
- eq_low : set the bass equalizer.
- eq_kill_high : mute the treble.
- eq_kill_mid : mute the medium.
- eq_kill_low : mute the bass.
