Members of the B2B community. I have some news for everyone. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been talking to Mike Vosters, he’s the production manager at Mixify. He liked what we did yesterday and pitched me an idea, I’ll quote what he said.

You’ll notice in the venue sidebar and on the marquee, there’s “Presented by ____”. If B2B has its own account on Mixify, we can actually set it to be displayed in those places for your events. So you would set up the event, and then we’d have to manually change the sponsor to B2B. We limit this functionality to partners at the moment since its not automated, but give me a heads up the next time you’re doing a series and I’ll work to get it done for y’all next time

Basically, this means on the “B2B Sundays” we can all DJ on our own accounts and still be under the ‘B2B’ brand if you would. This would be a great way to get our own Mixify pages off the ground while still making the B2B name known. Let me know if this is an idea you’d be interested in, so I can relay it back to him and he can set it up.

Also, any ideas you guys have for the site, hit me up and I’ll let him know too, they really do appreciate all feedback they get and try to fit the site around everyone’s liking.

Yeah, same goes. Refresh sorted it out, but the Mixify team are looking into it.

I’ve been talking to the product manager of Mixify today, and they loved what we did yesterday. Hopefully we can get some kind of feature in the coming weeks. I’m in quite formal talks with him right now, so hopefully the Mixify team will be working with us closely in the future.

Just like to point out though, great sets from everyone yesterday, went amazing. Would have liked my set to have gone tech difficultly free, but thats all part of being a DJ. 100% up for next week!

I disagree with this if I’m honest. It’s totally dependent on the crowd. I could be mixing and see a couple of old heads in the crowd, drop a few 90’s rave tracks like Zombie Nation & Sandstorm and it will instantly be a night to remember. Dropping those unreal classics are just as important as playing the newest. I think if you’re lucky enough to get hold of a bootleg of a track by someone, dropping it is a total must.

I’m all for trying to find old beats that go well with newer dance music.

Don’t worry bro, my message wasn’t so good either. And I 100% agree Phil. If you enjoy it, it fits the mood and the crowd can dig it. Drop whatever you feel. I’ve heard guys who switch genres constantly. I did a one hour set last night and went through at least 5 obvious genres in an hour. God knows how many ‘sub-genres’ I touched on.

When I began, I forced myself to not use it at all costs, and it really helped. I can’t deny that there has been times when I’ve used it, like when I’m trying to get a mix nailed perfectly and I’m at my 4th/5th attempt. Like Phil said, it is a tool. If your DJ’ing a 3 hour house mix, use it, it makes your job easier.

Speak to the person who your DJ’ing for. Ask them what they are into, what tracks they are really feeling right now and what their friends like. I’ve been through the exact same situation bro. I had to play some indie music when I’m a Dubstep DJ.

The way I got around it was to just basically play the songs end-on-end. At the end of the day, the people at the party aren’t coming to hear some phenomenal, top draw DJ skills (not saying you don’t have them) they are ultimately there to have a good time. And as long as you play songs they like, they will enjoy the night.

But seriously, have a good talk with whoever is hosting the party, get to know their music tastes and expand from there.

This looks like it could go on for a good 10-12 hours if everyone commits. Is there any places we could do some advertising? Get the word out to as many people as possible!

The bus is always a magical journey! I really do look forward to see where this genre goes.
