Mixify, probably the best site for this if im honest
Tony YoullMemberBased in Newcastle, England. Played a few birthdays and whatnot and played out at WorldHQ a few month back. Trying to get into the club scene. Brother knows a few guys in the business so looking for big things.
Tony YoullMemberOnly an hour and a half to the last rave on earth. Big things going down. Do not miss out on this!
Tony YoullMemberI also use Mixify.
It’s easy to use but difficult to draw new fans in. Most people I’ve had listening at one time was 20. Other than that ustream is great and Youtube is starting to do well (that is if your YouTube account has been given streaming capabilities)
Tony YoullMemberEverybody was at step 1 at one point. But seriously, no matter the question, there will be somebody here with an answer to it.
Tony YoullMemberYou’re in the right place then Max. Welcome to the site, seems like you have a hidden passion for making others feel good through music.
I look forward to some of the questions you give the guys here, and hopefully I can help you out. Do not hesitate to ask anything, regardless of how stupid you think it sounds.
Tony YoullMemberThis is good news and bad news. It’s good to see you looking at other options, but I think I speak for the rest of the guys when I say it wont be the same without you.
Just want to say thank you for putting it all together, if it wasn’t for your inital idea, none of the b2b stuff would have began. I hope that this new web station turns out good for you and hopefully we will see you swing by for a sunday set.
Tony YoullMemberCan you drop me the link again please?
Tony YoullMemberThink I might have a more in depth look at the Beatmix, it does look nice as well
Tony YoullMemberI don’t know if I feel demotivated as such. I’m still enjoying my mixing which is good. I’m just abit worried that in the long run, it could all be for nothing. Now I understand that everybody ins’t guna become an overnight superstar, but I’m confident enough in my ability to think I could hold down a decent set on a night, it’s just getting the opportunity.
I’m potentially moving down to Leeds next summer, I’m hoping that down there I can just be straight up with promoters etc and tell them how it is “I’m a DJ, heres my mixtape, enjoy”
Tony YoullMemberThey really are the two I’ve been looking at actually. They both look very similar, but I guess I have to look at the software. Beatmix is worked with VDJ (which I use) so that is handy.
-EDIT-
Apparently, both come with VDJ?
Tony YoullMemberLooking like another trip to Creamfields for me. Was phenomenal last summer even if it did get called off on the last day.
Would love to go places like Shambala, looks like an absolutely amazing place to go.
Tony YoullMemberIt depends what your idea of Dubstep is. If your meaning the roots of Dub, then its all about getting that kick and snare matching and bringing track b through slowly.
If you mean the ‘new’ dubstep then it’s all about the intro. Bring the intro in slowly, I usually drop the lows down a bit until the build. Wait for the kick drum build up and switch the lows around, always seems to work for me. For a better idea of what I’m talking about, take a listen to this.

You notice the low from the track coming in take over when the drop is coming up.
Tony YoullMemberif you ask me. It looks like you’ve gotten too deep, too quick. Getting the basics down is worlds away from having a residency. You have alot of things to look into; Crowd reading, building a good song selection, learning the tech.
I envy you that you’ve got this opportunity, but if you want my person opinion, I’d take a step back and wait till you get your kit in, spend some time with it, then move into getting that residency. If they were so happy to snap you up now, whats to say they wont take you in a month or two.
I apologise if any of this sounds harsh or blunt, but its 4:42am and I may not be thinking straight haha.
Tony YoullMemberWelcome to the site, the guys at B2B really appreciated your help when we first started, did alot of work behind the scene’s even though you didn’t have to.
I would advise everyone on here to check Mixify out, brilliant website!
