    Writing as I listen

Love the first song, great song to start with, immediately gives you an idea of what to expect throughout. Wasn’t too keen on the transition into the Feed Me song, would of had Demons still playing as the build up comes in, the change was just a bit sudden. Love the next song that comes in, such an unusual track. Enjoyed the fade into the Xilent track, nicely done (on a side note…Xilent, way to under-rated) Really looking forward to see how you bring Scary Monsters into this, should be interesting. Would have probably looped the intro bar abit longer to let the previous song run out a bit, but still was nice. There was a pitch spike in there, duno if that was a mistake or a hardware issue. Centipede just came in as Scary Monsters ended, but this is an awesome song. Dinosaurs now, unreal, once again though, just kind of came in. Get By came in very nicely, enjoyed that. So wished the intro of the next song did the track justice, thats not you though, I liked the way you brought it in. Welcome Reality now, loved it. Not many people use this track. Loved the way Whiskers came in, this tack is huge! That drop gets me everytime! Fire Hive, would have maybe looped the reggae intro to add to suspense. Got to know came in perfect, that silence before the drop works a treat.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to this, may have got carried away with how much I’ve wrote, but it’s better to overdo than under-do. Few tips for improvement, there was times where a song just came in and the previous on ended. Try gradually bringing songs in using the volume and H/M/L knobs. Try experimenting with loops as well, I’m currently trying to get my looping technique down, and it really does pay off. For your second mix it had some really good points dude, keep it up and if you get the chance, check out my mixes and let me know what you think.

    Thirded…DJ is too 90’s.

Definitely change the ‘u’ to an ‘o’ if it’s pronounced ‘Boffaz’

Thats the best place to start bro…you can pull of great set just on transitions alone.

This is exactly what you said, there is no advanced stuff in this mix, but there doesn’t really need to be in some cases. The transitions were clean, as were the effects when used, loved the ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ track. For your first mix this is very well put together.

Check out my 128orGTFO mix on my Soundcloud, I play a similar kind of music to you in it.

I personally would have been straight up with him. Let him know that you believed that the equipment could do with a refurb. Or tell him to welcome DJ’s to bring their own equipment. You said it went well with using a battered up mixer and improvising with CD’s. Imagine how it would of went with CDJ’s and your thumbdrive?

I’d say just stick to the cue’s and loops. Maybe even have this long breakdown playing in the background of the previous song. That way you can blend into this breakdown without it seeming too long.

Well, I’ve kind of been hit with a bit of good fortune (I think)

I was talking to her a few days ago, and she said she has 3 DJ’s including me.

One being a Birthday (disco) kind of DJ
One to play more Indie/Charty stuff
And me, to rip their face off with bass 😛

So I’m guna have about an hour and a half set at 12:30 till 2 (when the party ends) so it should all go down perfectly.

    Thanks for the feedback, and Steelo. I see where you coming, from. But I’m just using it “a5 y0u w0uld 1f y0u w3r3 typ1ng l1k3 th1s”

I’m using it more as “Triple 3” So the two kind of mix together. If somebody actually asks what my DJ name is in person, I will respond with “Triple Three”

Loved it, really did. First day in about two month we’ve had any sun in Newcastle, England. I open my curtains and put this song on and it just went perfectly. Defo has that summer vibe and that feel good factor about it, keep up the work.

If you have a chance, check me out!

Totally agree. House has been one of the few which has actually just got to a certain level and just stuck there. I suppose as far as Dubstep is concerned, it’s just a wait and see scenario. Right now, Dubstep is the thing to listen to, the music craze. Just have to wait and see if it stands the test of time.

In my eyes, all music is a fad. It has it’s ‘boom’ period (excuse the pun) then is overshadowed by something else. It will never go away, and people wont stop listening to it, the same way people have never stop listening to people like Elvis, Buddy Holly etc. I just think in about 10 or so years, a new, similar kind of music will be the thing to listen to.

Thanks for all the advice given. I’ve taken note of everything said and I’m going to try to apply this as much as possible. Hopefully my efforts pay off.
