IK Multimedia has announced the iLoud Sub, a compact studio subwoofer featuring automatic room calibration technology.

The unit extends low-frequency response down to 25Hz while claiming the smallest footprint of any studio subwoofer currently available. At its core is the company’s ARC X digital signal processing system, which automatically calibrates both the subwoofer and any connected monitors to compensate for room acoustics, regardless of speaker brand.

Key specifications include a 6.5-inch aluminium driver, dual passive radiators, and 200W peak amplification. Connectivity options span XLR and RCA analogue inputs/outputs, USB digital audio, and Bluetooth streaming.

Two IK Multimedia iLoud studio subwoofers and a room calibration mic, all in black. The sub on the left is showing the rear panel, and the one on the right is facing forward.
The iLoud Sub includes room calibration software and a measurement microphone.

The iLoud Sub integrates with nearfield monitors from 3 to 7 inches, including IK’s own iLoud Micro Monitor and MTM ranges. Setup is handled through the bundled ARC X software, which performs acoustic measurement and system time-alignment.

The subwoofer is priced at £599/€599 (excluding VAT) and includes the ARC X software suite plus measurement microphone. Pre-orders open 20 November, with shipping scheduled for early December.
