Reloop has announced the RP-5000 MK4, the latest iteration of its direct-drive turntable pitched as a price-conscious model for working DJs. The German company says it has redesigned the chassis and developed a new brushless DC motor, while keeping the familiar layout that RP-series users will recognise.

The headline spec is 2.5kg/cm starting torque from the new 8-pole, 3-phase motor, which is club-standard territory. Start-up time is under a second, and Reloop claims the motor characteristics have been tuned to minimise wow and flutter (typical specs of less than 0.08% WTD at 3kHz RMS). The quartz-controlled direct drive offers three speeds: 33⅓, 45 and 78rpm.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes…

The MK4 gets improved anti-vibration feet and increased damping in the chassis, which should help in live environments. There’s also a newly developed internal switching power supply that Reloop says reduces unwanted interference. Other practical touches include recessed connections for easier battle mode setup, detachable IEC and RCA cables, and gold-plated phono outputs.

The S-shaped tonearm remains statically balanced with hydraulic lift, anti-skating, and an SME-compatible headshell connection. Pitch control offers three ranges (±8%, ±16% or ±50%) via a clickless fader, with a pitch reset button for quick corrections.

  • The Reloop RP-5000 MK4 is available from the end of February 2026 at £400/€460/$500. Headshell and cartridge are sold separately. For more info, head to the Reloop website.
