I’ve been recently putting together a micro system for mobile dj’ing based around equinox’s micron dj booth, and have recently descovered that my XDJ RX controller doesn’t fit in the small dj booth, so have been on the look out for a small controller to control software on a laptop and I quite like the idea of using rekordbox dj since I’m familiar with the standard version.
I have heard mixed reviews on it from it being as good as playing on normal hardware in terms of latency from the DJ tutor Ellaskins, to someone mention having problems with it during a gig, bugs, freezing etc:
Has anyone here had any experience using it whether at home, in the studio, or at a gig.
Just thought I’d ask before I go ahead with the purchase next week…
Haven’t tried that combo live yet. So can’t tell you. The software is still developing pretty rapidly from it’s first pretty much bare-bones Pioneer only release last year with very frequent updates. It seems they are watching forums and their support desk like hawks and making sure problems get solved fast. With that being the case, a two month old complaint might have already been fixed by a software or firmware upgrade.
So, hard to advise. Good thing it’s not a 1500 bucks controller.
