    “DJ’s are Failed Producers”

Lol, yeah. Had a row with a guy on Youtube about not all DJs being producers. He was totally ignorant.

    Why failed producers? O.o

I was wondering because my friends wanted to listen to me play some music. Since I had nothing to do, I played some progressive trance and some slow and relaxing trance. They didn’t mind the songs at first but then they were like “Why isn’t the songs upbeat and fast and make you wanna dance and stuff?”

Which made me wonder, apparently people associate DJ/ producers as “people who make songs that make you high” and not just plain “artists”.

But I guess I don’t mix around enough with true EDM music fans.

Lol, I guess I posted the question wrongly. it’s supposed to be “Do you think the sync button is a good or bad addition to DJing?”

But anyway thanks for all the replies guys. Seriously nice to read responses in here O.o

Definitely looking forward to this, Phil. The 10 Commandments were a great read. Are you making the videos downloadable?

Yeah, some DJs have the help of only themselves to learn the basics. or people like Ellaskins on Youtube. I’ve never been to a DJ class so I wouldn’t know if it is like a school classroom

Wow. Definitely waiting for it Phil

I’ve heard about the Geminis having some problems. Mixdeck is okay actually. Note that its Midi is not full Midi, the mixer section is not included. Just to inform you. I’ve tried the Ndx 800s and they’re quite okay.

I feel having a mentor would make the learning curve much easier. I am currently teaching a friend the basics of DJing and he definitely couldn’t comprehend cueing, pitch riding, nudging and such by just watching videos. I had to explain quite a few of the basics before he actually got it.

last time I checked, it’s the digital age and mixing softwares are just “instruments” of the digital.

Listen my favourite music and get stoked. Watch videos of my favourite DJs perform. I like Paul Van Dyke’s performance at Sensation White 2005. Pretty cool

Definitely good deal. Go ahead and test the gear. If everything functions, buy it.
