Adam SharizmanParticipant
Thanks loads for the inputs guys. Appreciate them.
Adam SharizmanParticipantI don’t know about you.. But there’s a software called Mixx. It’s free so that covers affordable. It only lacks capability to sync with certain controllers. I would totally use it if I can use my Mixtrack with it.
Lol, sorry, didn’t read the full post. I don’t know much of producing. I’ve never read on it.
Adam SharizmanParticipantHere’s some small tip if you have yet to figure out how to listen to your next song: (Cueing?)
Go to your local computer store, buy some cheap USB sound card and some cheapo computer headphones. Then set the software to use one as cue channel and another as the out channel. I only know how to do this on Virtual DJ. Perhaps someone with better knowledge would assist me?Collect some cash and buy yourself a controller. You deserve one. Cheers and good luck!
Adam SharizmanParticipantThanks a lot! That really helped! Well yea, I’m still learning some transition techniques and hopefully it’ll better myself
Adam SharizmanParticipantAbove and Beyond.. Because they’re just there..
Adam SharizmanParticipantI started listening to EDM music 2 years ago. It all started with electro house. At first I thought DJs play with instruments to manipulate sounds. Then I learn that they DO manipulate sound, but songs that have already exist, not songs they make like you would on a guitar. That sparked my interest further. Then I started listening to trance and it just brought my interests further.
Adam SharizmanParticipantExactly what fullenglishpint said. I think the world views DJing as a male dominated profession. Like skateboarding or car racing. It discourages women to join.
It’s well known that most women wants a boyfriend that is of higher status, socially and performance, than themselves. DJs themselves are perceived by the public as highly social and earns big money. Although not true to all DJs, DJs have been stereotyped as that. Hence, women are easily attracted to DJs. However, if women become DJs, they are perceived as higher in status. Men will feel intimidated and will not approached her. Even the DJ herself may not go for a guy who has a lower social status than herself. This could explain why females don’t generally pick DJing as the musical career of their choice. I might be wrong. Feel free to correct me.

Wow.. I did not know that. Is the DMS 4 that bad?

What appeals to me is the analogue capabilities. I don’t really know of any controllers that has analogue capabilities and can work independently from a laptop.
Adam SharizmanParticipantVirtual DJ because I like the blue and red waveforms. Haha.
