Have you tried going into advanced setup in VDJ and fiddeling with routing the sound that way?

Got quite a few friends that i’ve had this dilemma and only one i know how to deal with.
I’ll quote that friend of mine here,he always says: ”Never let friends and family stand in the way of profit.”
Him i charge full price and he understands it.Granted he does always try to negotiate.
Other friends usually get about 20% off.

It’s all really up to you.You first should look at how proficient you are with your current gear, then weather you need it,then if it is the right things and finally can you afford it.No one can really tell you this it’s something you have to figure out for your self.

Don’t get into discussing what a DJs job is cause there’s quite a few different types and almost all work just as hard and have very similar goals as far as what they are suppose to do.

Biggest tip,DON’T Rush Into It.Learn what you can comfortably in a day and practice when you can in short periods.

I was at a party with several DJs, mingling with the crowd, waiting for the one in front of me to finish his set so I could go on. When I got in the booth, I realized I had left my laptop at home, a (one way) hour’s drive. Woke up drenched in sweat, shaking. Anyone ever have a dream like that?

Just about every single one of us has had that nightmare, some have even lived it.

Again, think about it,there’s already a campaign out for the pro II it’s getting a lot of publicity lot of reviews and a lot of buys.In a mind of a business man he doesn’t think”Oh there’s gonna be ego’s bruised because they bought the pro II and not the quad”,he’s thinking”Hmm,we’ve already got all this advertising and publicity, lets leach off it a bit more and exploit it to the fullest.”.

Think about it though, they did the logical thing. If you look at whats needed for them to make the generation II of all the stuff they haven’t,it’s a bit obvious why they chose to do this first,it’s a cheaper thing to do.To do a NS6 II and an N4 II they’d need to go through the whole process of redesigning it and re-arangeing functions and buttons and with this they don’t have to do that, they slap two more channels on it and add two more load buttons. If they were to do a Mixdeck II they’d have to first put out a new CD Player as the current one is basically two of they’re CD Players bolted onto a mixer.

My suggestion,if you’re doing mixing with out a monitor, either place speakers behind you or mix in the headphones by separating the channels. No one can really tell you what was wrong,it could have been acoustics, could have been delay, could have just been beatgrids.

Best advice,if you’re a Traktor user, beats till next cue and then go nuts on cues in all song, prep prep prep. It’s key to everything even mixing on the spot,if you prep well and consider every possibility and then remember thing you do in your normal mixes when you gothours of prep you can pull a decent mix on the spot.

    My most embarrassing DJ story.

About 3 months or so ago, around the time of new years eve.I was at a party that a friend was throwing for some sort of celebration,i don’t even remember what it was for. It was a late night party all through to dawn, somewhere around ten pm i notice that the DJ that was hired by my friend was having some issues with his gear, and i don’t mean trouble like not knowing what to do,i mean his gear was failing, just did not want to work at all.Ofcourse as a fellow DJ i offered to help him in any way i could, the party was semi quiet at that point as the party was actually about 1 hour in.We traced the problem to his wiring,we thought it was just a simple problem of the wires being broken in a place and that it was losing contact somewhere,so i loaned him my snake,we ran pretty much the same gear back then.Thing is the moment we hooked it all up it started doing the same thing,we again thought maybe it was his gear,i loaned him mine for the night,i kinda know the guy,to our big surprise my gear was acting up to,i was beyond embarrassed by this until we finally realized that the problem was in the USB HUD that my friend provided for the party cause he agreed to let the guy use his home PC.

That’s probably the only time i really felt embarrassed, that it was related in any way to DJing.

And now today i randomly check my e-mail to find a Message in my youtube inbox from one of my all time favorite DJs,who was holding a contest to win headphones.I apparently won the headphones,i was like…flabergasted, took me half an hour to stop jumping around my room from joy. The guy i”m talking about is DJ Tutor, when i saw that in my youtube inbox i could not believe it.
