Chris JenningsParticipant
I have not had this problem either. I’m also using 2 X1’s and a DNX1600.

I am dying to know what the price for the this new tool will be, I’m estimating a good 500-600 or so, which is way above my price range, so I’ll be sticking to my plan for an x1. But if I ever get the cash, I think this will be my next purchase, although I would definitely like to see some reviews on this before I even consider shelling out the cash for it.
Edit: the price is 669 USD. Very cool unit though
DJ TechTools has them on preorder for $599

however i was wondering about traktor pro 2 as i hear there is a discount if you have the LE version, does pro 2 improve on this problem?
or can someone suggest a free program that will let me map a controller because virtual dj home won’t and i grew fond of that software.
The itunes integration is the same in traktor 2. It’s meant only to get songs into Traktor not to play them from iTunes even though you can. I have the preference set to import my music folders when I start Traktor so that whenever I need a song it’s analyzed and ready to go. Then I just play everything off the Traktor collection where all of the information is remembered. You can tell Traktor to import certain folders in preferences as well. I use itunes exclusively to take care of my music collection so I just have it do the iTunes folder. If you use folders or some other organization method you van set up what folders you want imported.
Chris JenningsParticipantI’ll be on live in about 30 minutes with some deep, a little soulful and maybe some jackin house lined up.
Chris JenningsParticipantFor the life of me I can’t wrap my head around Ableton. I have some songs I want to do edits of and the last time I sat down to warp one of them I felt like I made some progress, but it surely didn’t came as natural to me as Traktor and regular DJ’ing.
Chris JenningsParticipantI don’t use the DDJ-T1, but I’ve turned my pitch faders off to give me more room for the wave form. I can see the +/- % in the deck header so that’s what I use.
Chris JenningsParticipantI just bought Snow Leopard for my iMac yesterday to prep it for Lion. Like Phil though, I’ll wait at least a few months (probably more like six) before I update my DJ laptop.
Chris JenningsParticipant9 times out of 10 the only people that care about this kind of stuff are the haters that will end up being dinosars and the noobs that feel inferior.
Chris JenningsParticipantRob Francis, post: 4475 wrote: Is it another DJ mix website? Do we need another one? I’m quite happy with MixCloud
No, no, no. There are no mixes or anything like that. In it’s most basic form you have 5 “dj’s” playing music, when one is done with their song the next “dj” starts playing their song. The crowd in the room can then rate the song awesome or lame giving a point for every awesome, but taking one away for every lame. If you find a “dj” that is consistently playing songs you like then you fan that person and you get a notification whenever they start plying in a room. It’s a great way to discover new music and is akin to going to a friends house to play records and show each other what you’ve recently bought.
You can do a proxy to get around the not being in the US, but I don’t really know anything about those.
Chris JenningsParticipantIt sounds like the sample rate on your computer and the sample rate in Traktor didn’t match. When you plugged in the new soundcard however its sample rate did match. It doesn’t matter what the sample rate is as long as they match. However the more over 44100 you go the more processing power required.
Chris JenningsParticipantDJ EENGENIOUS, post: 4140 wrote: Could you indicate what some advantages would be (particularly in terms of DJing) over the current model of downloading mp3s / adding to library / creating playlists?
Yeah what Phil said, it’s like radio, but you can pick what you listen to. It doesn’t replace anything in the terms of DJ’ing, it’s just a tool to help with digging.
Chris JenningsParticipantChris JenningsParticipantThanks Paul.
