You are Very Welcome William; and you Will Love the Vestax VCI-300 MK2 π
I have heard (though I don’t Own it) that ITCH is Amazing; however; if you are used to using Traktor; then DJ Tech Tools has a Solution (a Download Tool) which will Allow the Vestax to work with Traktor (as it Won’t do this straight out of the box Unfortunately); have a look at the Page Below and see if it is Helpful to you πhttp://www.djtechtools.com/2008/10/08/vci-300-patch-released/

It seems as though you highly rate the controller. Do you think it would be a good addition to a mixtrack pro?
Hello Steve π
I have looked into this More;
And in August & September 2011 the Full Version Of Traktor Pro 2 Is Available; but After that it goes back to the LE;
So; if you are Ready for the X1; then this is the Month to Buy It;
On this Native Instruments Page Below; are some Fantastic Videos from World Class DJ’s who are Using the X1 πhttp://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/dj/traktor-kontrol-x1/?content=1131&page=1205
Emma PartnowMemberThank You Grooverider for your Interest in this Topic; and for your Very Thoughtful Answers
Emma PartnowMemberIf you are a Beginner my Friend and moving into Digital DJ’ing; although Traktor Pro 2 will be Recommended to you; as Virtual DJ Pro 7 is a Free Download from their Own Web Page; this means that you don’t have to spend Any Money and you can have a go at Learning One of the Best DJ Products out available (for Nothing);
The Following Page contains all the controllers Dedicated to Controlling VDJ; and the Choice is Yours πEmma PartnowMembersteve_07, post: 6961 wrote: Anyone have an opinion on the kontrol X1. Is it useful or just another accessory?
I’m really tempted by the free traktor pro 2 offer if you buy one at the minute.
Hello Steve π
I have been looking at the X1 lately; and it looks like a Magical Tool;
However; if you were going to buy it and save on the Full Retail Price by selling Traktor Pro to your Friend; I think you should Definitely read this following Review; as it has been Confirmed by Many that you Only get Traktor LE πI have been waiting to make the transition from CDJ’s to Computer based Djiing for some time and Native Instruments have got it perfect. While you only get Trakor LE instead of the full version, you cannot get better value or equipment for the price. 3 effects, cues, looping and the most simple option of synchronizing songs for perfect beat matching means you can be a DJ with just a laptop and this Dj controller. Had it for nearly a month now and have not had a single issue with it While I will in time be purchasing the S4, I highly recommend this to anyone who is a beginner or trying to get into Djiing before splashing cash on a product that is far more complex and expensive. A great product, simple to use and most importantly, alot of fun!

Emma PartnowMemberYes; an Efficient Sales Pitch for his Product; that is used in (from the Video’s Evidence) a Very Few Places in the World;
I can Produce Tracks at 24 Bit and 96khz (and actually far Beyond this); however; I Don’t have the Hard Drive Space;
If this Man; or Anybody for that matter; were Prepared to offer me for ‘Free’; Unlimited Terabytes of Space; then All my Productions would be at 32 Bit and 192khz; however; that isn’t going to happen; so I have to work with what I have;
I would have liked to have heard the Figures for ‘Non-Digital’ (Analogue) Sound with regard to Bit Rate; to Compare its Quality to today’s Digital Sound; but these Figures were not Given; even though the Man had the Information;
Regarding the Interview; yes; Cool; Regarding the Content; no; we are not All Made Of Money;
Sometimes we have to look at Choice;
If I have an Audience of 100 People who ‘All’ want to hear ‘French Kiss’; and I have the Following:
1: A Scratched; Jumping; and basically Unplayable Vinyl Version
2: A CD Version that the ‘Best’ CDJ on the Market Will Not Recognise (so; Unplayable)
3: A 320 ‘Insane Quality’ MP3 that Plays Perfectly
I Feel the Audience would be Very Accepting of the MP3 (to get the ‘Buzz’ they Require)Emma PartnowMemberHello William; A Very Warm Welcome To The Forum π
I have looked up the Numark iCD DJ; and I can’t see that it comes with any Software at all; I may be Wrong of course; but I was reading about it on the Numark Page; it may be that the Software (if needed) is included in the App on the iPod (something else I don’t have);
But; you are Certainly Welcome to make a New Thread about this on the Forum to get everybody’s Views πEmma PartnowMemberHello David; A Very Warm Welcome To The Forum π

Hello DB π
I have given you some Information regarding Canadian Law in your Introductory Thread π
And Personally I wouldn’t DJ in Any Premises where Security is Not Standard as My Equipment is Too Important to me;Emma PartnowMemberIt has been Extremely Hard for me to find Information Specific to Canada regarding this Law;
However; on the Following Page; if you Scroll Down to Canada; you can see that in fact their Laws Regarding Drinking are not Disimilar to the UK (and bearing in mind that you will Not be Drinking; just Performing on Licensed Premises); as long as you have an Adult Over The Age Of 19 With You; I cannot see that you would be Breaking The Law:Emma PartnowMembermr stifffy, post: 6934 wrote: beatunes, there was a comp for 25 copies and I gots a place π

What software would you recommend for doing stuff like that? Can you do it just with CDJ’s also?
There are some Excellent Points in DJ Hessler’s Post;
However; Ableton (which is The Best Software Digital Audio Workstation in my Opinion); Reason; and Cubase; Cost A Lot Of Money; in your Introductory Thread I Suggested VDJ Pro 7 as it is Free; you already have a PC/Laptop (or you wouldn’t be writing on this Forum – Possibly); and you have Access to the Internet; and your Brain;
This means you don’t have to spend a Penny More;
There are Loads of Acapellas on YouTube; on a site calle Acapellas4U.com (Free); or you can ‘Cut’ your Samples from CD’s you already Own;
At Any Point during a Track there is Likely to be a Vocal Without A Beat; and a Beat Without A Vocal;
These are the things you Need to be ‘Cutting’ if you wish to Recreate some of the things you have heard and enjoy;
I do use Ableton; but I also have VDJ 7 Pro; and it is ‘From The Waveform’ that you are Cutting These Samples; if you are doing it yourself of course; otherwise a Big Search on the Internet will Find Everything You Need;
Once you have Cut a Sample you ‘Save this Sample To Your Hard Drive’ and Treat It Like A Seperate Track;
Then; you bring this ‘Seperate Track’ into your Mix ‘Wherever You Like’; as a Break; as a Layer On Top Of Another Track; or however You Choose πEmma PartnowMemberDJ Digital dB, post: 6872 wrote: So I read the article on hiw to get your first gig but the only problem is I’m a minor but would still want to start making a name for myself in the DJ world. Does anyone have suggestions for me?
First of all DB I don’t know what Country you live in ?
Phil Morse, post: 6873 wrote: This is a really good question. I’d love to hear feedback from readers who’ve been in this situation as I’d like to write an article for the main blog on tactics to achieve this π
This was Easy for me Phil as the Laws in the UK allow Anyone Aged 14 to be on Licenced Premises as long as they are Accompanied by an Adult Over the Age Of 18;
When I began DJ’ing in Clubs I was 15; there was Never A Problem; I Never Drank Alcohol; and the Club Owners Licence was Upheld By The UK Law; as can be seen in the Quotation below:The law
In the UK it is only legal to buy and drink alcohol if youβre over 18. Selling alcohol is controlled by law in this country. Pubs, clubs, off licenses and other places that sell alcohol have to have a license.
It isnβt illegal to drink alcohol in your home but doing it without an adultβs consent can leave you in a lot of trouble!
Hereβs a rundown of the UKβs alcohol laws:
- It is illegal to let a young person under the age of 16 into a pub, bar or any other licensed premises, unless they are with someone over the age of 18.
- It is illegal to drink alcohol in a pub, bar or any other licensed premises if youβre under 18-years-old.
- You canβt buy alcohol, or get someone to buy it for you, until youβre 18-years-old.
- 16-17-year-olds are allowed to drink alcohol in a pub, bar or any other licensed premises, but only when accompanied by an adult and during a meal. You can go into family areas of pubs from the age of five and once youβre 14 you can go anywhere in a pub, but you wonβt be able to drink alcohol.
- The police can take alcohol from people under the age of 18 who are drinking in public places. They can now stop anyone under 18 that they think might be carrying alcohol and take it off them. If youβre caught regularly the consequences could be much harsher.
