DJ JIMMY GParticipant
wow thank you brother, if you get at my facebook page or soundcloud i will definitely be dropping more of these mashups…
DJ JIMMY GParticipantrespect brotherrrr
DJ JIMMY GParticipantone or two MAX early on is always good for me if possible, helps boost confidence…
however,
I’m usually driving to gigs so water is typically more common for me !DJ JIMMY GParticipantI understand the situation with CD’s, had a solid few folders for mobile DJing… ended up having a fire in the garage a while ago, burnt the lot of them. Wasn’t the worst thing though as I then had to make the leap to a full on DDJ.
Also my sets are usually around 5 hours so double that is like what ? 250 tracks (that is including the double amount)… hmm im now worried to even check how many tracks i am currently taking with me via USB now.
1 in 1 out is a great idea, ensures you bring your A-game every time i suppose.
@DJNostalgia I understand your frustration but i now try and move unused folders or tunes to a hard drive, i have terabytes full up in safe storage like a true hoarder…
need to start with cleaning out my current collection i think.
Thanks for the help, cant wait to hear everyone else’s ideas too !!

DJ JIMMY GParticipantI was mobile Dj’ing from like the age of 15 ! As weird as this sounds it was so legit.
My dad was always with me so often people thought that he was the official DJ and i was the helper, but the truth is he didn’t know his cue and play buttons from the cross faders !
However his music knowledge was golden and together we both improved, sealing Giggs every week ! The only thing i regret is that my mic control didn’t improve… at like 15+ I hated using the mic in front of 100’s of people and is something i would recommend you encourage your lad to do (depending which route he plans to take) but it can only be beneficial either way.
Your son should have good crowd reading ability and DJ skills by the time he is 18 and ready to hit the clubs !
Good luck man.
P.S unfortunately we are not blessed with Dutch blood 😉 haha

DJ JIMMY GParticipantsounds like some real good advice. THANKS !
Eating healthy is one thing i seriously need to change, along with saying no to certain things, but how often do you feel like cooking, or eating a pre-prepared salad at half four in the morning. the glistening light off the kebab shop always seems to draw me in HA
Although there is easy access to Booze when Djing, it isn’t too bad as i dont drink when i play, maybe one… but then its just water after that.
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down or rest”…. so they keep telling us 😉
keep up the hard work guys !
DJ JIMMY GParticipantthanks brother means a lot !
DJ JIMMY GParticipantyeah, cheers guys ! i will try it out.

so I finished a gig last week, the lights come on, music went off… and as i took my headphones off, i was suddenly DEAF. litterally couldnt hear, started panicking and getting all hot and bothered, tried yawning to pop my ears and that didnt work.
Pulled my hands to rub my ears and boom ! still had my ear plugs/protectors in HAHA i was instantly relieved from the panic attack.
as for the other health issues… IMMUNE ! 😉DJ JIMMY GParticipant“This topic has been reported for inappropriate content”

JimmyGDJ JIMMY GParticipantHi Ar05,
before we start i will tell you that the Tech House scene is booming down south of England at the moment. I personally run and DJ an event at the moment in Canterbury which is only down the road to Essex.
We have actually been giving new DJs the opportunity to come and play an hour set which gives them some experience behind the decks. All of which have actually been impressive.
What i would say is that we try to sort the DJs so we have a mixture of house, for example, one guy will be a techhouse specialist, as i dont even play that much tech i tend to stick to vocal and bassline, then we arrange it for the appropriate vibe on the night. This gives a good mixture. To agree with Vintage though, the DJs who have a broad horizon of musical knowledge and taste are the easiest to work with, reading a crowd and being able to control the atmosphere is a trick on its own!
Do you have a DJ profile ? I would be happy to chat with you more, and feel free to come to the event bro
(sneaky bit of promo there 😉 haha
