Try downloading the Pro version and see for yourself. It’ll run in demo mode without a serial for 30 minutes. The LE and bundled versions are quite limited in customisability compared to the pro version.

Just read your review of the VTT-101 and in this comment you mention that there’s a video review coming soon. Any idea when that’ll be?

I’m using the S4 with TP2, not the DDJT1, and it feels pretty good to me. There is definitely a pitch fader display, though I think there might be an option to disable it in the settings. You can turn most interface elements on and off in TP2. There are heaps of advantages too. Sample decks and the loop recorder are definitely the best advantages.
Just get the TP2 upgrade if it’s free, you have nothing to lose. It installs alongside (separate from) TP1, so you can have them both installed and and use them both as separate programs at any time. Switch from one to the other in between sets, if you want to. TP2 is completely separate.
I think Jem’s referring to the LE edition, not T2P.

LewMemberNot had any major problems with the jogs on mine apart from the size, as long as you only want to use them for pitch bending.

I’ve heard good things about them, and have seen one at my local Maplin so I know that they’re not as toy-like as they look. The jog wheel is supposedly quite good, and the 100mm 14-bit pitch fader should be way better than the ones on the BCD3000.
LewMemberTrue. From what I’ve seen though, to get a budget controller with decent jogs and a built-in sound card you’re paying a fair bit more than the BCD is going for these days. From what I can tell, the best budget controller with both is the Mixtrack Pro.

I think for the price point the BCD3000 is pretty good, especially for a controller with a built-in sound card, as long as you don’t mind the small jogs and plasticky feel to it.
LewMemberI’ve only bought a few tracks from Beatport or 7Digital as there’s not a whole lot there if you’re not after the more mainstream styles of music. For the styles I’m after such as old-school hardcore, hardcore breaks and rave breaks you have to go to sites that specialise in that type of music such as nu-rave.com or Hardcore Lives. Quite a few of the tracks in my library are free downloads from forums, or from compilation CDs.

LewMemberI always thought it’d be a lot harder, which is what put me off trying. Then I watched this video and tried the method described.

LewMemberStarted with the copy of Traktor 3 LE that came with my BCD3000. When I was made redundant at the beginning of 2009 I used some of the redundancy pay to upgrade to Traktor Pro, mostly so that I could customise the controller layout to my own liking.
