Its not just about the levels and djing has changed over the last 20-30 years or so. For a start the equipment can do more so all I’m trying to do is save myself some time. Also i have a a lot of old house as well which i have managed to get from various cd’s etc and even though they are a cd they don’t sound as good as they should, so i thought this might help.

All i want to do is level out the volume and improve the quality as best i can without buying some very expensive software and spending months sorting it out, the ears can only pick up so much.

btw Diversebeatz – I have ran a few through PN and it does keep the artwork and any notes i have put on so I’m happy.

I completely understand what you are saying, thanks for the reply.

I don’t think i was totally clear when i mentioned about getting away from the laptop. What i am trying to do is move away from the typical setup of a controller which relies on a laptop. I am happy using a laptop to manage my music with a programme like Rekordbox and having the flexibility of either putting it onto a USB or just connecting the laptop and using direct.

With the XDJ 1000 this is something i have already been looking into along with either a DJM850 or DJM900. I think this setup is great because it mixes the sort of CDJ (without cd’s of course) and a digital setup, in my mind i think this is a pretty modern setup, but thats just my take on it. I can also add other kit to it later on, if i have any cash left 🙂

    Plans and ambitions,

I have looked at all sorts of kit and nothing seems to be what i want, i just really want to move away from relying on my laptop or at most use it for storing my music.

Ambitions – i would just like to see where things take me, at the end of the day its all about the music and if people like what you play, it might come to nothing but i will have some bloody good fun while i am at it.

If i end up spending a bit more than i need then what the hell, you only live once.

I use my s2 jog wheels at the moment but I’m looking for some inspiration tbh.

Hi thanks for the reply Again.

Don’t know how the single cable would fit in. It’s probably better if I explain properly what I am connecting to.

I have a Denon 4311 receiver with some bowers an Wilkins speakers, don’t frown I know it’s probably not ideal but I want to connect to this and run it through this system for now.

What would you recommend connection wise and hat are your thoughts in me hooking up this way.

    Thanks

Yeh I see your point but I have sort of settled on the traktor s2, not massively expensive and should hold its value pretty well for the hort term anyway.

    Thanks Chuck,

I didn’t feel let down by your comment and yes it is all about the heart but at this point in my research I need to think straight and make the right decision. I either need to do this properly even if its just at home or not bother at all.

I just couldn’t find an answer that satisfied my questions on the site, maybe I missed something.

Well I was hoping for a bit more of an answer to be honest lol rather than point me in the direction of a course I can do. I’m just trying to get a feel for things at the moment by using my head and not my heart.
